  20. Yes you are reading it correctly. on RC5-64 Success · · Score: 1

Rc5 cracking works on bit operations. Imagine you have a binary number 00000001 well distributed tests the next number bu moving the bit one space so the next number it tires is 00000010 and then 00000100 and so on and so on and then 00000011 00000110, etc...

Some processors move the bits faster then others because they have a register in the CPU to do this, and some don't. The AMD K5 was extremely fast at this because it had the register for this, where as the K6 had to use 4 registers to move the bit one space.

  24. you got a lot of money laying around? on How Would You Start a Radio Station? · · Score: 1, Informative

You will have to buy the rights to rebroadcast the songs from the record companies, song writers, and publishers. You will also want to broadcast at 50k to 100k watts to cover a decent area. That is 50k to 100k per hour. You know your electric bill may be $100 per month. Imagine a radio station and several thousands of dollars in electricity per month. Also you will need some sort of advertisement so people know about your station and to pay the royalties and electric bill. So you need some sales/marketing people.

If you do decide to do this though, please don't be lame like other radio stations and between every song say your station call sign letters and FM frequency. Like we didn't hear yout he first million times you said it, ok?

the rules they had for what your bot could and could not do really limited what sort of bot you could build. That is why you mostly had wedges, spinners, lifters, spikers, and one capture bot.

It would of been cooler if it was like on Robot Wars (does anyone even watch that? the announcer sucks) but they have pits with fire, and their bots hav emore flexability as to what weapons they can use.
