    It says my 'Avast Online Security' add-on is not compatible. I think I really need this for safety. Does anyone know if there is an update that is compatible>

    Yes, I have experienced this also. Firefox doesn't update the window title when closing a tab and quite a few times when switching tabs. Also, it sometimes doesn't update the address bar. I have many FF windows open and need the window title to be correct in the task bar.

    Using phpMyAdmin in FF takes a very long time to show a table structure. Most of the time FF pops up a message that says "This page is slowing FF down".

    And right click on a page and select 'View Page Source' and FF yields a window that is blank.

    I sure miss the old Firefox. Sigh.

  5. I have DirecTV Now:
    • Requires Silverlight (which Chrome doesn't support anymore)
    • Doesn't support Firefox
    • Doesn't support Windows 7 (which I run, but it does work using Internet Explorer)

    I thought everyone was phasing out flash and Silverlight

    Everytime you click on the support chat button it prompts you to login even though you ARE logged in.

  9. I subscribe to SlingTV so I can watch college football. Orange package ($20 mo.), Blue package ($20 mo.), and Sports package ($5 mo.) totaling $45. I could probably get by with the Orange and Sports. Sports gets you ESPN{,2,3,U} and SEC Network. You can watch from a desktop or any tablet or phone. You can watch stations in the Blue package on three devices at the same time.

    You can also watch games at ESPN Watch. When you sign in, SlingTV is in the dropdown box.

    They couldn't do that for $10 though. Based on the sophistication( or lack of it), It looks like the teenage son of the bank president set this up based on his experience in setting up a home network..

    Don't forget to chmod -R 777 / -- makes life easier.

    And VNC is shit...it would be much nicer if they implemented RDP or some sort of analog for Quartz. I imagine you could compost Quartz images over RDP or even have WindowServer carry the information over a SSH channel to a local rendering client but we will never see that happen because it is closed source.

    If they snipe away enough Comcast customers, eventually Comcast has to pull out entirely because they're losing money

    If Comcast or anyone has been the monopoly provider for a few years, then they have already re-cooped the cost of their build out. After that it doesn't matter if you're in a "rich" or "poor" neighborhood; the operating costs are the same.
