    While true, the article states the proliferation risk is "none", which is not true. All it takes is one clever chemist/physicist to upgrade "none" to "practical".

    That's the most vague definition I've ever seen. Besides, a self-referencing definition isn't really a definition.

    When you actually try to define 'clean', you'll realize you have such a narrow definition, that no technology or natural process can satisfy it.

    You green types need to rethink what "clean" means. Because whatever you think that is, it can only exist in the past and only for a short period in the past.

    Th-232 produces U-233 which is the actual fuel for the reaction. U-233 can also be used to create nuclear weapons.

    This article claims thorium reactors remove the threat of proliferation, but that is incorrect. This article gets 2 thumbs down for misleading the audience. We don't need to lie to people to make nuclear technology an acceptable energy source.

    Cops are trained to control a situation, if cop killings are rare, maybe this training has something to do with it?

    I know you're enlightened and all, heck I've been saying "acquiesce" ever since I saw Pirates of the Caribbean too; but the dude was Canadian. He isn't standing up to fascism by arguing with a law enforcement officer from a different nation. His place is to say, "thanks for letting me enter your country, even if I have to wait in my car."

    Sounds poetic, but ignores the special groups that love to break the rule, "don't get into fights where you don't stand a chance."

    2. Druggies
    3. People that feel entitled (like, oh, a Canadian crossing the U.S. border and arguing with an officer.)
    4. Kids
    5. Other

    Tally them all up, and it's no longer a rare case.

    Based on the correlation between heat and atmospheric CO2, I'd guess an alternate theory would be that temperature affects the rates of plant respiration and photosynthesis to net a greater output of CO2 than O2.

    Actually, it's ridiculous to believe that scientists have done their due diligence. Science is not a belief system. The scientific method requires rigorous scrutiny, not your kind of blind faith. Being told that thousands of scientists have reached consensus is not science.

    GP asked some very good questions. Answering them would give credibility, ad hominem will only get you mod points.

    If I just needed coding monkeys, vocational school is a perfect fit (unfortunately for the "grad" so is google most times).

    If I need workers that can design, code, communicate, conjugate, add, or apply lessons from different fields of science and arts; I'll want someone with more qualifications.

    Of course, this begs the question. If there is a stigma in this field that a 4 year degree is required for success, why would a potential employee go to a vocational school instead? Maybe, just maybe, the burden of responsibility is already appropriately assigned; on whomever seeks success.

    I agree with the spirit of what you say, but I'm blown back by what you actually said.

    It's bad for civilians to prepare themselves to kill cops.
    If cops prepare to kill civilians, well, that's ok.
