I'm lookin at you, Tom Clancy! Sum of All Fears sound familiar? It seems that chapter explaining how to trigger the chain reaction was read by this *one* guy, who just happened to have picked up a hitchhiker who introduced him to the joys of reading. The guy told the driver NOT to read that chapter, which alas, made it more irresistible to read, like when I told my roommate, We're skipping this part where he slices the cop's ear off. Lo and behold that night said roommate kept hitting the BACK/FORWARD buttons on my remote.
I hope this truck driver won't need to test it in real life, or have kids that play with hammers all day.
I know that most tabloids can put 'ACT OF WAR' headlines on page 1, but I am not so sure about those same tabloids posting 'N KOREA BEING A DICK ON A MASSIVE SCALE' in a similar fashion...
"Wait! I saw you drop the dice! Why'd you pick them up right away?"
"Well they kinda gave off another reading...Something about the world ending in 2014...not important heh heh these things aren't known for accuracy...you know how it is..."
Good to know. Are you a lawyer, or is it because you've seen it happen, or you've been through an incident like you described? It is an honest question...
That's what they did before, when they tried to build the one, true car that everyone would like. And thus the Edsel was born, and it was presented to horrified crowds.
...on everything that came from a UK studio (was it IFC?), but then those lights got really intense out of a BW TV set we had. I couldn't get into it or suspend my disbelief enough to engage. But seeing how some of you have pointed out that it's Science Fantasy, I guess I can breathe more easily now.
And don't forget the stunning sequel...Wild Things, where she emerges from the Pool and even tries to establish close contact with the other female Neve Campbell.

A. Were you born in the 60's? They currently use it in the outside world, yknow, where they have this thing called business casual or evencasual Fridays, and even Nonsmoking areas! In California, for cryin out loud! They even have restaurants that have tanks of pure oxygen, out in freakin L.A.
Can you zoom in on the guy with the cell phone, and read his lips, or something to that effect. All from traffic cameras.
The Peacemaker: A million people in New York City with backpacks. And they're able to figure out (through the use of satellites) which one to chase. Which is also why I can never watch Enemy of the State *rolls eyes*
What makes Sneakers enjoyable for me (other than Dan Aykroyd underplaying it this time, well done) is you have two very close buddies, one gets caught and becomes evil and rich after prison, the other hasn't changed, and the climax is all Temptation of Christ-like: Ben Kingsley asks Redford to join him.
I think it's a metaphor for our generation, given the key to the untold wealth of the global (tech) kingdom, which would you choose? Transfer funds from the budget of the Bureau of Firearms Alcohol and Tobacco (iirc) towards the Campaign for the legalization of marijuana. Heck that's MY hero. Suspend your disbelief on this one, and grab the popcorn.
Really. I had to check if it was somebody else other than Carmack!
You know what you just did,/. ?? From now on, heck, even tonight, a Friday night, no less, he will have to introduce himself in parties as 'Doom Creator' instead of waiting for either the awed silence that usually follows the mention of his name, or the alternative THE CARMACK?!!?
Did we just fall into Digg, or something...Or did the submitter just want us to *feel* old all of a suddeGET OFF MY LAWN!!
I have used it. The hi-quality snapshot pager on e16, is a thing of beauty and has not been seen elsewhere, not even in e17 *sniff* T_T I tried going back, but I think only a few skins (presence, orange juice, a few blue-ish themes) age well.
Is this where Spock does you a favor by using his left hand instead of his right?
Color me skeptical.
heck i was going for the cheap shot
No, Steve will convince with a wave of his hand, not unlike the Dark Lords before him, that this is exactly what you are looking for.
Pray that he does not find your lack of faith disturbing.

...once those netbooks sport mega-gulp cupholders for gatorade-style drinks.
Sport -- get it?

You probably believe the Matrix isn't real, either.
This offends me and my religion more!
