  1. looks uncomfortable on The Ultimate Computer Chair? · · Score: 1

That looks like a really awkward place to work, how do you reach your manuals and drink and phone and....etc. And where do you rest your wrists when using the keyboard?

And you just know someones gonna push it over while youre sitting in it and roll you across the office. Does it have a safety harness?

I even see the latest release has "Instrument panel support. Spacecraft can now be designed with custom panels."

I've got an older version and its fantastic. And its free.

Er, what you actually mean is SLOW the earths rotation down to 100 days in a year. If you speed it up from 365.25 I suppose you could always go up to 1000 days in a year but a 8.75 hour day would be a tad freaky. Still, at least the geo-sync satellites wouldnt have to be launched so high :)

  8. anti spam help on Anti-Spammers Wage E-War · · Score: 1

A while back, maybe over a year there was an article on /. about a search engine which you can type "bulk email" into and it gives a list of companies selling bulk email software, ordered by how much they paid the people that run the search engine. Then every time you click on one of their links it costs the bulk email sellers so much per click. Anyone got a link to the /. article or I think there was another site with a lil perl script to do the clicking for you and run up a big bill for the bulk emailers.
Such fun, and yes, I do have way too much spare time :)

Yeah, I put my name and even a real email addy on their page. I doubt I'll get an answer though, seeing as I really took the piss out of them in the comments section.
Anyway, I hope they do send me some stuff, havent been sent any AOL disks for a while so I could do with some clean coasters.

  11. Returns policy on Ebert, Gillmor on the Music Industry · · Score: 1

Even though it says you have to run some flavour of windows to play a CD, item 2 of the Returns Policy page states that you can return the CD if "The CD is not playing in your computer." Doesnt say anything about the OS. So go buy a CD, stick it in your *bsd/linux/mainframe/toaster (a computer has to have a cpu in it, right? not a cd drive?), wait for it to not work, take it back to the shop for a refund, repeat until they run out of CDs.
