Big difference. Iran is an embargoed country. China is not. This means that any country that operates in the United States must not deal with that country or face sanctions. When North Korea became financially embargoed most banks around the world avoided dealing with them because they risked sanctions by the United States.

  3. Media as we knew it is dead on Another Question Of Search Engine Legality and Infringement · · Score: 1

The internet is a interesting and powerful tool. It has changed the way we look at the distribution of information. Laws are being applied to concepts that are to young. There are growing pains. Unfortunately, the government is listening to companies instead of individuals. There are abusive laws that prop these companies up. I think that copyrights are dead since the cost of transference has been reduced to near zero. Artists must say its frustrating to hear this. I don't understand why though.

How much do they make an album?

Most of the money from sales goes to the company for distributing the material. I ask you then, why does a song cost 1.99(or whatever it is now). The cost of producing is held by the author who makes like 10 cents(I might be wrong) from the sale. The other 1.79 goes into distributing the song and a tidy 1.50 profit for the company distributing the song(I don't know the actual numbers). This is absurd. Without copyright this industry would not exist. The DMCA is the only thing keeping this industry viable. If the authors went solo they could easily make money off of advertisements and donations.

    What about videos and such?

That would be the only part of the industry that would survive as it doesn't rely on copyright management. There would be restructuring. Concerts would still happen. There would still be merchandise to be made. These services rely on the limitations that can be imposed without managing copyright(material or space). The extra leg work could easily be accomplished by a manager or the author themselves.

It also alludes that they should be punish Sure its inventive, but it doesn't mean that they need to be punished. Maybe they need help and should receive psychiatric treatment instead of being treated like a criminal. They are trying not to harm anyone.

I have and understand that its not my problem if the girl wants to hide meds on herself. I would tell her straight up I knew she had them and to give them to me before she makes this worse for herself. If she says no. I call the parents who would deal with their kid appropriately. Supervising children does not give you the right to act instead of their parents.

However, the second you state that school officials are not allowed to check your underwear, that's where everything starts getting hidden.

Yes it would happen like that until it gets out that the parents get called. The last thing a child wants to do is get in trouble with his/her parents. It is much worse then with a teacher that doesn't live with him/her.

I also hope that the student that gave the "tip" that this poor girl had pills in her underwear gets an ass-whoopin severe enough to make her grandkids wince when sitting down!

And what would that accomplish. If she was explained the severity of the situation and that the punishment makes her regret her decision then no one needs to lay a finger on her. Spanking your kids doesn't help if they don't understand why they are being punished.

As left winged as this sounds, abortion is also a great choice for a couple to have. If people are not ready to have children they will cost the tax payer massive amounts of money to support the ill planned child. These choices give the couple a chance to be productive members of society so that they can have children when they can support them. In the end likely saving huge amounts of tax money.
