"It was" several messages similar to this one, depending on what BIOS your computer has. I have ony ever encountered "Keyboard not found. Press F1 to continue."...
It's funny how the article is split up in so many pages, yet the huge list of comments below it isn't and is all loaded over again when navigating to the next page.
I wasn't aware that a difference existed between countries. For me, my love for open source must be both: free software that can be improved by anyone (when following the rules (license)).
There's no real "lugging" if it's something like an Eee PC though. (By the way, these boot up in 10-15 seconds when using its default crappy Linux OS.)
Because they likely have to sign a special contract forbidding such actions or placing it into confidentiality when applying for a job at that ISP? I don't think any ISP would allow for an employee to breach their clients' security like that.
Racial bias, eh? But what if I deliberately choose to pick a black avatar when I'm white? This is why racial bias seems kind of weird to me in computer.... games.
Swing is important for graphical user interfaces - for both applets and standalone applications. Tomcat and Java Server is useful for creating dynamic web pages (JSP and Servlets).
I don't like using either of them, really, but they're pretty much the more important and useful things you can learn in Java. There are also plenty of other useful libraries out there (learning to use JDBC, and Hibernate, is good for databases).
If I remember correctly, the governments in Rotterdam and Den Haag, two cities in the Netherlands, have switched to Linux a few months ago too. Reason: Windows wasn't stable enough. Heh.
There was this joke commercial in the Netherlands about a year ago about "buying wireless electricity" (point of the commercial was that something like that doesn't or won't exist, so instead you'll have to get your electricity at their company). It sure doesn't seem so impossible now...
All I'm saying is that support by at least some of those companies WOULD help. As for how... If the solution was that easy, Linux would be in a better state right now, no?
I guess commercial products do get all the commercial attention...
I foresee a good future for Xfce: lightweight, not bloated at all, somewhat customizable, has a bunch of awesome "applets" to put on the task bar(s). In my opinion, it only really lacks in customizability...
Fake, or already "overwritten" by newer satellite data?

Wait, the scene was cut because of foul language, not the fact that he was cutting his freaking eye out? o_O

You know... Those people in them action movies about hackers have been able to do this for years.
On a serious note, this is a bit... unsettling.
I think certain stereotypes or generalizations can't be helped if you start talking about Martians.

Well, I don't think you can call the number of people running linux "tiny" anymore. I think it's upgraded to "pretty small" by now.
Troll? I would have understood an off-topic modification, but troll? Umm...
Why a new Javascript engine if TraceMonkey is coming soon, anyway?

More accurate would be "some of us" can play through Wine in Linux.
No. No, it doesn't. It's only Linux-based.
AAAARGH! Thanks for getting my hopes up, this news is only about the ports of DN3D for the 360!
Why anonymously? Or did you mean unanimously?

Luckily for KDE, it's all very well customizable.
Yes, but are you a woman?
