A majority of academics are in the pursuit of knowledge and furthering their respective fields. When you are working for a company a majority of the time you are doing something that does not further the field of science and knowledge.
As a former 2 pack a day smoker who thought "I can quit anytime" I'll tell you its not quite as easy as all that, it took a few times (as in 5 or 6) trying to quit to actually quit. In the end I found Chantix helped me quite a bit to kick the habit, for those that are curious I smoked heavily for about 12 years.
I am 28, been programming professionally for 5 years. As far back as I can remember I've always known when creating database fields that have numeric values you only make them a numeric data type if they are going to be used for calculations. A Zipcode will never be used for a calculation.
I think it was in Everquest you could type/pizza and it would bring up a web browser pointed to the pizzahut web ordering portal. Man those were the good ole days.
How does it make you feel to know that your work has become very intergrated into lives of your players? For example I know that there have been occassions where two players who meet in World of Warcraft go into fall in love and get married? I would also say for the majority the experinces of these players are good and positive ones, however there are also negative ones such as addiction that leads to cutting off the real world in ones life.
This is sad for the North-Western part of Louisiana, which is where I live and where Cyber Space Command was supposed to be put into place at Barksdale. I know many of the local universities have been pushing hard to put toghether cyber security circulums etc to give those in the local community a chance to work at this place once it was constructed. While I am sure it is not all for naught I do imagine a lot of time and money will have been wasted in the community by people other than the air force that were counting on this as a new job market especially with the layoffs we are having at our local GM plant and many other factories ( Not that the same people would work at these places )
Personally I would just shrug and hop over them and go about my day.
I think they should rename it to "The Unicorn Society", i mean they are looking for non-existent things afterall

While my physics is a bit rusty, I believe G-Force is a objects acceleration relative to free fall. So I am going with zero G's
