    Freenet has improved greatly in speed in the past few years. A year ago I found it quite usable for light web browsing. Sure if you want to leek 1 TB of something it's not going to cut it, but if you haven't tried it in awhile give it another spin.

    - This. I'd be mildly curious to see whether spirituality genes occur more commonly in those who describe themselves as belonging to an organized religion. I could easily believe it's not that different: some believe, some just stick with what they were raised with due to never questioning it. I would guess, however, that among converts (perhaps even /away/) the spirituality genes are more common. Also all the comments about how weak the correlation is.

    It's a bit silly to conflate organized religion with belief.

    Android is a family of phones that have little in common as far as hte non-engineer is concerned. Nexus One, Droid, etc are all individually comparable to iPhone as categories.

    I don't really care how many people are wasting their education (I dislike it but we all make mistakes), but some of us need to get work done and/or take notes and it's hard to write by hand as fast as you can tex. I don't think I'd have gotten through undergrad without my laptop.

    Or performance on the input type. Sure lossless compression cares less what it operates on, but you can still have algorithms which make more sense for different types of input. As a trivial example, if the input to your compressor is one of five GB-long sequences known in advance, you can compress that down to 3 bits.
