It didn't say anything about an apology. I told them the offending file was removed. Here are the counter procedures from Comcast's site:
A valid written counter notification made under Section 512(g)(3) of the U.S. Copyright Act must include the following information:
A physical or electronic signature of the customer or user.
Identification of the material that has been removed or to which access has been disabled and the location at which the material appeared before it was removed or access to it was disabled.
A statement under penalty of perjury that the customer or user has a good faith belief that the material was removed or disabled as a result of mistake or misidentification of the material to be removed or disabled.
The customer's or user's name, address, and telephone number, and a statement that the customer or user consents to the jurisdiction of Federal District Court for the judicial district in which the address is located, or if the customer's or user's address is outside of the United States, for any judicial district in which the service provider may be found, and that the customer or user will accept service of process from the person who provided the notification of infringement or an agent of such person.
Yeah, but how long did tolkien have to work on LOTR? Was he pressured to write The Tow Towers and Return of the King so they could be rushed to the box office?
This experience does not need to be revisited. I lived in Waco during the events and resurrecting David Koresh and making a martyr out of him is in very poor taste. What happened in Waco was that a local news reporter tipped off the Davidians about an ATF raid, and even though the ATF had lost the element of surprise they stupidly went forward. At the end of the siege I think the Davidians started the fire themselves. I still feel sorry for those brainwashed that stayed. I really feel sorry for the children who died in the fire.
I am a lefty that uses a right handed mouse. This would never work for me because I don't write with my mouse hand nor am I adept with a mouse with my writing hand.
If it does pass, just swamp the gov't/riaa/mpaa with calls whenever you want to plug something in, turn on your computer/tv/etc. Then they might get the point about the stupidity of the law.
I suppose you could make it a game to learn *nix. Have objectives like learning basic (ls, rm, etc) commands and work your way up to harder commands before it will let you explore certain directories. If the player is able to master it all they become root!
