In my experience it generally seem that most people sitting in the break room or god forbid rant in their off hours about how "the managers don't know what we do" or that their managers are "no-talent hacks" or some other random criticism are also the employees least likely to stand out in any positive capacity to offer solutions to a broken situation and are content to merely whine about it.
Secondly managers don't as a rule have to know what it is their people do as long as they know how to manage their resources and people to meet goals set by their own bosses.
Most people when they think of management are referring to low level management (AKA Middle Management) who are little more than grunts themselves, have very little to offer as far as actual skills are concerned and are paid to make sure all their people show up on time, take their breaks on time and micromanage their people as if they are five years old and serve very little real function.
Activision's point seems to be that with a low console turnout there will be a smaller volume of people demanding Activision games to those consoles vs more successful consoles, which makes it difficult for the manufacturer to justify the cost to retool the entire game to run on the silly PS3 architecture.
MS Fanboys == people who don't pay $400 to play final fantasy, or to watch blu-rays at 175 watts (vs around 30 watts for a stand-alone player. Some jerkoff always has to mention how they can watch movies on them too. Usually the same jerkoffs who slap you in the face about global warming).
Poor wankers buy Macs too. I've seen them spare changing for their Starbucks latte with their Che Guevara t-shirts and ratty jeans (and sadly this is not a joke).
All companies AND Government pay bonuses to employees, executives and management. If you work for an organization that's never paid you a bonus in some form, then it sounds like you need a new job.
lets see if i can spell this out in/. standard accepted lingo.
1.) Govt taxes corporation that was never taxed before and they sell widgets (Whatever the reason).
2.) Company shareholders get grumpy over loss in revenue.
3.) Cost of widget production goes up.
4.) Company lays off employees and raises prices of widgets to the wholesaler.
5.) wholesaler corporation cannot afford loss to profit margin so they either lay off employees or raise retail price of widgets.
6.) Consumer market demands widgets, but doesn't think they are worth new price forcing reduced production and more layoffs OR consumer market pays increased price for widget and thus are paying the corporations taxes for them.
7.) Profit!
I wish I lived in the wonderland where people honestly believe that corps don't pass the taxes along to the consumer, this is where ignorance is truly bliss.
and I don't need to hear your theories about why owning a truck makes me a trendy redneck asshat. Some people buy trucks because they're remodeling their house and can't fit lumber and sheetrock in their geo prizm.
I double checked and I don't believe I mentioned rednecks, trendy or otherwise, asshats, or geo prizms. Perhaps you are confusing myself with the past conversations you've had where people spout such things. Judging from your response, however, I can hardly disagree with the conclusion of you being a trendy redneck asshat.
And yes, most consumers don't know what they are buying, what they want or why they want it. Thank you for understanding the original point of my message.
and the point kinda was that without the bloatware, the ipod IS crippled and nearly useless, rendering all those nifty features useless. Are you telling me the ipod touch and the iphone has the processing power to decode compressed video, track motion and GPS but doesnt have the power to run its own onboard tagging database?
We have this amazing thing called "the internet" now, and it has massive amounts of useful and searchable information on it. Many programs connect to this "internet" and retrieve information from it automatically.
That would require that they put down their Apple blinders and see that unrestricted options are available. Many of these fanboys have been iPod exclusive for aeons and may not know that there are things other than pr0n on the interwebs.
I have a "stick up my butt" because i find it ridiculous that ANY company should be the defacto standard. The crowd here gets pissed off that Microsoft pukes all over the OS world but is okay that apple does the same thing with MP3 players and that's perfectly okay because "its Apple!"
Fuck that, Apple is just another Microsoft, and the reason people don't see it is this weird blindness people get when the "in-thing" is around. Don't look at it for what it is, essentially an MP3 player with bloated management software (for which Sony is repeatedly trashed for, but then, they are Sony and not Apple).
People pick their Presidents and their cars the same way now.
So you are saying, rather than buying an MP3 player that does all this properly without installing bloatware (such as my Zen or my Sansa), we should cripple ourselves to satisfy the apple fanboys on/.?
This place is always against proprietary, unless its apple proprietary and then BEND OVER BABY!
I sleep my laptop and my desktop in vista all the time, i close my lid and it hibernates and powers off. My desktop hibernates and powers off after 10 minutes. I've never had a failure of it to come back exactly the way it was when it powered off. My fiance's laptop runs vista home, hibernates when the laptop lid closes. i set this up on all 3 computers...i don't see what you are getting at. hibernate has never been a problem for me.
now...Linux (Ubuntu 9.4) on the other hand, when i had it on this laptop for 4 months was constantly bugging out on hibernate.
You just completely changed my mind on this issue, the OS manufacturer absolutely SHOULD be responsible that Joe the Programmer cant build a driver for their own hardware that's branded "vista compatable"! why didn't *I* think of that?!

Just out of curiosity...
Did the free iPod cook toast?
You assume that mac cultists would dare defile their home with a Microsoft product. They are all playing Sims3 on their iPhone.
They have binary load lifters. Load on ground, load lifted from ground.
Now the first person to invent a walking battery charger that stumbles around spouting "gonk", now THAT would be something...

Obviously the answer is to trim down people's internet usage, afterall, browsing porn and utube are contributing to global warming.

way to contribute to my "education"
When you say something funny, even if I disagree I'll let you know, 'fella'.
This is by far the best response I've seen to the question yet!

Funny, my zen tracks most played...

Its restricting but pretty easy. I wont buy something with an iPod port. More are coming out with USB ports which is fine.

ill never buy a mac so I'll not opine about it.
Not even apple escapes driver problems, and they DIRECTLY control the hardware.

Perhaps it should be:
Yes, Yes it does, evil asshole!
Yes, yes it does! ;)
So.....are you saying after this rather lengthy diatribe that only Dell can do this for PC?
