I know you wanted to sound witty, but freedom actually isn't anything like virginity. If it were, then being 98% free would be no different than being completely unfree, and I don't think anyone could reasonably argue that's so.
That said, I'll backtrack a little. I can see how having unfree software in the default install would be too polarizing to make whatever gain would result be worth it. But that doesn't apply to switching default search providers from Google to Yahoo, though.
If it meant Canonical got a big fat check, I'd *want* then to install "IE for Linux".
I mean come on, people, does it really take an unusual amount of vision to prefer a sustainable Ubuntu that's 98% perfect on install rather than one that can't sustain itself that is 100% perfect? Especially when we're only talking about defaults which can be easily changed?
I'll take that trade; NPR News is more interesting anyway. They're also one of the few news sources with a revenue model that actually works in this century. Maybe the New York Times should go non-profit, get foundations to underwrite them, and have beg-a-thons.
Besides, do you really want a customer that is ignorant enough not to call you or visit your site because you don't have an 800 number or a.com domain?
That's like someone building something next door to you that's so loud that it's literally painful and saying, "Fuck you. Seriously. Why should you get dibs on the whole town."
So far, the first three boxes don't seem to be doing jack. Maybe a few RKBA types will get a few rounds off if the feds actually do show up to collect their guns, but for the most part American liberty is eroding not with a bang, but with a whimper.
But I guess I can't blame them -- it's not like I'm even going to be out there sniping politicians and bureaucrats. (I'm more of an emigration kind of guy, so long and good luck with that.) It just seems silly to me that they go on about guns being a "bulwark against tyranny" if they're not serious about it.
I liked Sherlock Holmes generally, especially since all the actors hit the right notes, especially Downey, who I really do hope wins an Oscar one day, even though it won't be for this.
As far as plot, what I appreciated most was that in the end despite all previous appearances that everything was explained as rational cleverness rather than anything being supernatural. Too few things promote rationality in this demon-haunted world, so it's always nice when something swims against the tide.
Nigeria has already demonstrated that they shouldn't be online
I hope someone someday collectively punishes you and everyone you know for things a few people who live near you did so you can get a sense of how fair your suggestion is.
Rorschach, is that you?
How is this philosophically different from courtroom sketch artists?
Now we aren't talking Harvard here but we aren't talking University of Phoenix, either.
Too bad, actually. If we were, the flight wouldn't be that great, but there'd be a hell of a lot of paying passengers....

Speed Racer? Is that you?
Come on mods, take your blame. That wasn't flamebait and you all know it.
Now, now. That was a perfectly cromulent use of the word in that circumstance.
The purchaser also gains the right to claim the title of "The worlds most obvious sucker".... ...but only for one week.
There's no relation, though I do wish she was my girlfriend
How unfortunate for you then that she's from West Virginia....

Although our assistant minister joined us for one game as a cleric of atheism.
Then I'm going to go ahead and guess that you go to a Unitarian-Universalist church. Well, that or Episcopalian.
Dude, stop giving him ideas!
No worries, I made a redirect.

Um, I think that most businesses would say yes.

I too think that ABC Family are a bunch of sea slugs for having canceled The Middleman.
I bet you'd have a lot of fun with scam baiting. :-)
They refer to it as "A collaboration for infrastructure protection". Does that make those who sign up for it "collaborators"?

If American gun owners were going to do anything more than just talk, they'd have done it by now.
Maybe it was for being a girl?
(Oh, just kidding....)

I can't wait for Civilization Network to be available on Facebook so we can split the difference here:
