No need to godwin it. Christopher Columbus. Thomas Edison. Heck, Jack the Ripper. There are plenty of mean people remembered for their accomplishments and then there are complete scoundrels remembered simply for their misdeeds.
Modern day Muslim extremists. Much like the extremists giving Christians the reputation they have for enforcing biblical inerrancy. The extremists in all groups are giving their respective camps the image of being batshit insane.
Could it be that the results balance out because what the software lacks in being a human, it makes up for by being able to handle each student "personally"? As opposed to a fleshy instructor who has to spread himself or herself thin over the whole class.
That said, I have had the pleasure of knowing an honest cop that stood up to even higher ranked officers who were doing things they weren't supposed to be doing, and I made it clear to him how much I respected that he showed the stones that he did. If there were more out there like him, there wouldn't have to be so much animosity towards the police.

It's okay to eat a little bit of the rich and decadent foods so long as moderation is shown. Every once in a while a chocolatey donut or french fries can be fantastic so long as a person is active and generally eating better things most of the time. The more frequently the servings of things like that and the less active one is, the more it's going to have an adverse effect on one body.
To be fair, sometimes quality matters. For example, a generic resealable bag is more likely to leak than certain brand name ones that cost more like Ziplock or whatever. If leaks are going to be an issue, one will want to get the more valuable bag.
For other, less important things however, the cheap and generic will suffice, and the couponing can bring one into the habit of losing sight of that.
Most nations with money to spend are constantly developing newer, more effective weapons. Support for the most recent attack on Iraq was out of concern they were building WMDs.
Most organized crime is quite interested in acquiring more, if not better weaponry. Such as in the huge deal that was made over the Zetas getting their weapons from the US.
A person that recently experienced say, a mugging or another such crime may try to arm themselves or arm themselves better the next time they go out. And even in the animal kingdom, one creature evolves evolves better defense mechanisms, and the other develops to become a better attacker.
Also, this is a story about new technology to use against pirates.
Is it that unrealistic to believe that "bad guys" are looking for ways to be more effective against their enemies?
I'd heard another major complaint about that photo was that it's a plot hole-- the last time the quarians were able to safely live on a planet without their suits was a thousand years ago.
I figured that there were too many people expecting a sexy secret, but I however was hoping they wouldn't just make the quarians into purple humans. It was bad enough the asari looked almost exactly like humans. I would have liked quarians to be very alien looking in some way, and perhaps in particular Tali's appearance never being shown in-game. A nice condition about her character was that since her immune system was so vunerable and her appearance never revealed, a Shepard that romances her does so because of who she is on the inside, even if quarians turned out to be hideous and covered in bed sores. That continuity error of a photo was not only a copout, it cheapened that theme.
In 2009 there were 2,867 black males killed in the United States, of which 2,604 were killed by other blacks, 209 killed by whites. Why the outrage in this case? Might it be various people made assumptions about how this would play out?
It might, might, might just have something to do with the fact that this was not such a cut and dry scenario, and the suspect wasn't arrested. Of those 2,867 killings you cite, how many of those killers were arrested for murder or manslaughter? How many of those cases were regarded as self-defense?
People are understandably quick to bring race into the equation, but on it's most underlying level, an unarmed boy was shot by a large adult with a gun and an arrest wasn't made. The unarmed boy was reportedly making a run for junk food for his younger brother, the armed man was at some point following the boy around after being advised not to because the police were on the way. It's suspicious, regardless of what color either character is.
More like rare weather. In Southern California, the moment there is a slight drizzle the drivers don't know what to do, and lose whatever ability to drive they might have had when it was dry.
I couldn't land in Top Gun, and I couldn't refuel either. As far as I was concerned back then, there were no levels past the second one, it was akin to SkiFree with its yeti.
Children get put on psyche meds because instead of sitting at a desk for hours reading and studying, they want to run around screaming outside. Then, after getting into the habit of sitting around a lot they somehow grow obese and are encouraged to exercise more. There is no end to this.
Each person's physiology is different so it is unsurprising there is a lot of disagreement on what causes weight gain and weight loss.
For the record I too am losing weight while consuming bread, potato, pasta, and rice. However, I get plenty of exercise, I don't eat white bread anymore, and I mostly only eat a lot of potatoes in the winter (i.e. when they're in season for consumption). But probably, someone in another part of the world with a different background will need to eat differently to get desirable results.
There are original ideas but to the people who finance these films they are risks, and more than ever people don't want to take those risks. With comic book adaptations and sequels, the audience is thought of as already being sold. A Batman movie will sell, that has no trouble getting people to invest. Some zany new idea that somebody wants to try: who knows? Now ask yourself, if a producer came to you asking for a handsome sum of money to regurgitate a new Batman and another asks for money to produce some artsy thing nobody has attempted before, who would you trust your money with?
Yeah, that is why Hollywood has become nothing but comic books, sequels, and reboots.
It's not as easy to admit to it, being one of the sentimental types that fondly remembers the gaming magazines of the early 90s, but I have to agree with everything you said. Around the time the internet gathered enough momentum to get a sufficient number of gamer types the internet began to get the latest in news that much faster than the magazines. The big sign which ultimately lead to me allowing my EGM subscription to run out was the point when I was receiving the following month's issue early each month (i.e. getting a May issue in early April, maybe even the end of March), and the content inside was still dated compared to everything I'd already read about online.

Those nuclear wars have been occuring for a long time, too.

If there's any truth to the article, we'll be doing away with teenagers in about ten years.

Power does what it wants, no matter what the system of government.
Hear hear, mod parent up.

As hard as NES games were, I don't see anyone getting very far with the playable function of a giant controller...
OJ could afford the best lawyers money could buy.

Okay, if it makes you feel better, is Batman a coward for hiding his identity?
Of course these soldiers should be punished. We need to always strive to maintain order, even when we can understand why they did what they did.
- the idiot that took a picture
- the idiot (could be the photographer) that shared it, knowing exactly what the result would be.
These "idiots" are making sure the soldiers will be punished, whereas otherwise it might be covered up.
Not the only one. All terms used are misnomers, and they all desperately try to label something that isn't even a thing anymore. Plus, it has lead to such wonderful things as this gem.
