Stop trying to put creationism in the science class and this wouldn't be an issue. It's not controversial for a science teacher to teach evolution. It's also not controversial for a science teacher to explain why creationism isn't science, when asked about it.
If standing up for teaching science in the science classroom isn't for the "nerds", then what is? The people who make this a flamebait topic are the creationists who troll every website they can find that mentions evolution, or the teaching thereof.
I've always wondered what the actual story was behind his departure, because it almost seemed like tension between Reznor and Devine. There were vague statements at the time, and they both left the project in a relatively short time period of each other. I know in an interview years ago, the reason Reznor gave was that the project was taking too long and he was itching to work on more NIN stuff. At the time it seemed like a very diplomatic answer because he sort of blew it off and moved on to another topic.
Look at my UID number. Do you honestly think I even used Gnome 1? I mean really. Not all of us got started in the 'good old days'. For me, Gnome 2 was the reason I finally started liking Linux. When I got started with Linux the popular DEs were Gnome 2, and KDE 3. So for me this is only the second time I've seen an enormous amount of work just flushed down the toilet. Now years later KDE is actually getting pretty good, but now here we are right back at square one with Gnome.
Now you can proceed to call me a n00b fool that doesn't know wtf I'm talking about anyway, and that I should just STFU and not have an opinion, because it's just free software. Right?
I still find it utterly unreasonable to just scrap the Gnome 2 desktop. It was the most stable, "just works" DE for *nix, and they just threw all that work out for eye candy. I tried to like Gnome 3 but it feels more like a toy than KDE4 did when it came out. It makes me wonder how many thousands of development hours were just flushed down the toilet for this. I could understand it if they used Gnome2 as the foundation, and added to it, but they didn't.
Bethesda really are being total assholes here. Suing a independent developer for the word "Scrolls"? Bethesda does not own that fucking word... If those corporate assholes actually agree to this I'll be totally shocked.
The rest of us are too busy entering all of our personal information into the advertising giant Facebook and Google+, to care about our privacy rights.
