People seem to love hating on this guy, but let's look at how he handled the situation:
"We have made a very bad mistake."
No PR bullshit, or excuses, just acknowledgment followed by a suggested solution. In this day it's not often you see that above-quoted sentence. Especially from know-it-alls on the internet who just shoot spitballs at people who get things done.
Which campaign propped up, and played to the teabaggers? It was John McCain's campaing. For crying out loud he put the teabagger queen Palin in as his running mate. Now he wants to complain about the Frankenstein monster he helped create? Piss off!
And sometimes you don't. Sometimes it's not a band-aid, but a society. I know there is a fraction of you vocal keyboard commandos that would love to go back to the early 1800's, but it's not going to happen. If you actually hate this society so much, just move. We won't miss you.
Because the mission of the NSA isn't law enforcement, and it's a bit chilling to know that the spy agency that is more secretive than the CIA is actually pointing their sights at American citizens, which is NOT what they're supposed to be doing.
My Linux machine is used as a home desktop machine, so when I go to bed, I turn it off. So for me, I boot Linux once a day. I'd care about Uptime if I were serving something, but I don't.
People aren't billing World of Warcraft characters as a form of money, either. When your "currency" can be compared to World of Warcraft characters, I think it's pretty plain to see how valuable it is as a currency. By the way, I have a WoW character that I used to defeat the Lich King last year. I wouldn't sell it for bitcoins.
The guys at id need to bury the hatchet and call up John Romero. I never thought I'd say that, but over the years it has become obvious that while Carmack drove the technical prowess of id, the soul of the company came from Romero. They need to get the band back together. Otherwise expect another decade of Doom clones, and whatever Romero has been toiling with over the years.
It's sad that a professional game developer has misread this so badly. If people aren't finishing a 15 hour action game, it's because it probably isn't very *fun*... It took me probably 100 hours to complete Baldur's Gate 2, and I never once thought about complaining about it being "too long".
I'm glad brick and mortar libraries were set up before the modern era, because it would never happen today. I simply don't understand how an online library would be so horrible, when even small towns have libraries where you can read any book you'd want to.
So creationists have been arguing that evolution is true, and that we're the descendents of Neanderthals? Oh no, that's not it at all. You're "predicting" that Neanderthals were just like we are, and that "sub-humans" could never have been created. GTFO
I don't take anything from this guy seriously after dealing with Pulse Audio on a few systems. The shit never improved and only added a layer of incompatibility to systems that ran just fine using ALSA by itself.
How many square miles have been evacuated to prevent illness and death? It's important to not leave that out. Japan doesn't have a lot of land to just abandon every time a reactor melts down.
Evidence of what? That a mistake was made, and then corrected when pointed out?

If you hate government so much, move to Somalia. Seriously.
Slackware is a great KDE distro. If Slackware scares you off, try the KDE edition of Mint.
I wonder how many lulz you can have sitting in jail, or fined into bankruptcy?
If you RTFA you'd know that his charges involve computer hacking, not messages he posted online...

Twitter was obsolete when it only allowed 140 characters.

Sure if you're playing a tit-for-tat game.

Oh I don't disagree with you at all. Those examples are pretty disgusting, and I'd say the same thing to those asswipes as well.
If only we gave the DoD enough cash for stuff like this....
Does this mean that they'll be making Direct X open source? :D

The 2nd Amendment doesn't give you the right to murder or intimidate someone...
I've had more fun with indie games in the past few years than every id game since Quake 3 combined...

In other words, you have nothing.
