Honestly, this is one of the worst/. headlines I have seen. The headlinestory implies that the article discusses GNU/Linux systems and Windows systems where it only discusses both operating systems kernels. This is extremely bad since it is commonly understood that noone ever rtfa.
The last sentence implies the story is about "copyied" code. Spoilers: --------- It is not!
Maybe this was added just to spice the otherwise boring subject up at bit?
Please "editors", with a proper headline this could have been an interesting discussion. Now it's all offtopic. Thank you!
Lol, I have the opposite problem. My site is all over it. I am listed with EVERY single HTML-page on my domain, mostly those that are under the hood and are not even linked on the homepage or anywhere else on my site. If this goes life it is absolutely useless.
My bank changed it too. I called phone support and after a week or so I was suddenly able to surf to the page with mozilla. Half a year later they relaunched their page and got rid of the Java crap they have been using before. Actually, when I called lately and they told me about another update I asked again and they replied "Of course we will support Mozilla, we wouldn't be so stupid to annoy many of our customers!" It seems that their IT is at least aware that there are other browsers out there.
Its easy. All the tools are ready. You can either simply install the new kernel or compile your own vanilla. I dont think you will be in much trouble. I never had any issues with the 2.6 series. That is actually one of Slacks major strenghts.
Thanks for mentioning that. I am deathly afraid of dogs and once "worked" in an environment with three dogs, constantly fighting, and the largest one charging me every day of the week since he had forgotten that I am part of his tribe. I must admit that I wasn't really working at my full potential.
I think that it's great to work with company. I hate to be alone in an office all day. But let the people make their own decisions with whom they want to spend all day. It doesn't really matter much if to be in the same tea from what I experienced. It's just nice to have someone to ask for a second opinion from time to time. More than 4 people in an office can get noisy when on the phone, though. It's really all about the coworkers. work can be a lot of fun if you work with the right people...
Get a decent amount of huge green plants. They are generally very easy to keep alive and make the rrom much more friendly. They do a great job as seperators between desks so that you don't get the feeling to be under observation all day. The green is easy on the eye and people relate to them over time. I know it sounds funny, but it's true!;-)
Hehe. Yesterday when I clicked on the link and read "Return of the xxx" in my tabwindow I didn't further follow it since I was pretty sure it would be some sort of XXX site. It didn't help that you posted it anonymously. Now I just read it on the frontpage. Darn! They really know when something gets smelly.
Right now, I am hacking away on an article about browser competition on the desktop and how Firefox is gaining ground. Now this! Well, looks like we have reached the point where Microsoft copies OpenSource innovation. It used to be the other way round. That's the good part. Another upside is that there is still time left. Longhorn is far away, and if SP2 is any indication than there won't be another major update to WinXP in reasonable time. But still, the giant woke up. And Microsoft is though competition to say the least...;-/
Hmmm...I really wonder how Microsoft will respond to the recent movement in the browser market. Of course they are still market leaders on the desktop but have you ever used their stripped down version of IE on a PocketPC? It's just a joke!
I wonder where Microsoft will turn in the near future since all work on IE seems to be on hold up until Longhorn and their smartphones never really took off. If I were in their shoes I would start acting. I always considered Microsoft as a serious competitor but lately they haven't made any real progress and seem to fall behind in a lot of markets. Not that they will be gone anytime soon but I wonder if they really are asleep or if they are up to something big nobody has thought of yet. This silence is suspicious...
OK. I am not a newbie anymore. I use Linux as my primary system since 1998. I surf the web almost 24/7 but still couldn't figure out how this site works, if it matters to me, or where I could start. I admit that I didn't read the tiresome article on the frontpage. Please, this is not an intended troll. I think the idea behind this is great. But it is really too complicated for any newbie to use. Am I just plain stupid or why isn't there a transparent, straightforward way to navigate this site?

that comes with the defaultinstall of WinNT4.0. ;-)
That was the last version without (Radio)-ActiveX.
Hmm...what they should have added is a ctrl+alt+del key! ;-)

You are saying that there is an actual use for that key I ripped out of my keyboards cause it kept getting in the way when playing Doom??

Looks like IE is not the only thing with a leak at Microsofts...
called him once: He was talking out of his arse anyways.

"No Cubes, lots of Windows" sounds like a Microsoft ad from 2000

Hey, you can always IM for help!
Yeah, reminds me of the day I was searching for the movie "XXX" ("Triple-X") on Kazaa.
Obviously you meant:
