At the rate things are going right now, the next time France is invaded it will probably be *by* the USA.
Right. As we're going after Germany. Again.
Seriously, the biggest problem will be France selling this technology to rogues states. Like the reactor they sold to Iraq. Or the chemical weapons they sold to Iraq. Or the warheads they sold to Iraq.
Well, you get the picture. Everyone pins all of Iraq's WMD on the U.S., while the U.S. accounted for less than 1% of all arms sales to Iraq. Biggest sellers? Russia, France and Germany.
Hmmm, who was going to veto the Iraq invasion?
Don't worry. We will invade France right after they're put under Shariya.
Seriously, it's between a DB nobody knows and a trick browser few use (yes, I am one of those few). But does it really warrant this kind of posting? I mean look at all of the posts this far. TWO 'BSD is Dying' posts, for crying out loud.

Yeah, but can I hook one up to a DeLorean and do time travel?
I do have a girl. Any boy coming to the house will see my shotgun and shovel by the door under a sign that says, "I know how to use both. Have fun." Having said that, I think my girl is going to learn how to take care of herself.

A machine's operations are merely a representation of what the programmer wanted it to do. If the programmer was neurotic, then yes. But it won't get that way 'on it's own'.
BTW,some software houses have already realised - you have to slash prices to make revenues here, instead of making nothing on local markets - I've bought two or three localised games (Jagged Alliance 2, most notably) legally, with jewel box version for less than $4.
They want software but they don't want to have to install anything? I would tell them that you can definitely build it and then do a time and materails contract...
Except the allegations about the land deals were never proven.
Are you kidding? How many people went to prison for this? Just because the witness who would implicate the President died before he testified does not mean that the allegations were never proven.
The fact that oil is mostly priced in dollars and that everybody is dependent on it is a good portion of what makes the dollar so strong. If too many people price their oil in euros, the dollar loses demand and may inflate a whole lot due to the sudden oversupply of currency.
This might be the dumbest argument I've ever seen. Congratulations.
Guy I worked with was a MOUS and hit a snag in MS Access. Since he was a participant in their expert helpline, he called MS to see if they could recommend anyone to help him. They said they'd check.
A half hour later he got a call from MicroSoft outlining his problem to him and asking if he had any clues as to why it was happening.
He finally realized they were calling him to answer his problem.

And, of course, this classy rant...
Looks like I'll need a new Video card for sure.

I'd hit it.
Not that I would, but I suppose one could always market LSD as a modchip for your brain...
Wasn't that the point of Neuromancer?

Wake me when they come up with a 'Lawn Dart' delivery system.
Now THAT would be useful.
All kidding aside, though, cute, but how useful would this be?
This is Slashdot.
Besides, liberals and socialist foreigners don't like to be confused by facts, especially when it comes to politics.

Don't believe everything you read on the WSJ opinion page.
This coming from an AC on Slashdot? Too funny.

Makes me smile.
Sure. Congress repeals their dumb laws all of the time.
Look at Campaign Finance Reform.
Oh, wait.
I guess limiting Free Speech is okay now.
Because we all know we can trust the U.S. Senate with sensitive information.

In court, maybe, but not in the real world.

Why on earth make whitespace vital to the compiler?
And you think it's superior to PHP and Perl?
Seriously?
