    I'm going second this recommendation. I've got an RT-16N and it's a pleasure to work with. Between the USB ports, the decent amount of RAM and flash... and the peppy CPU... It's more than one should expect for the price.

    Use more WAPs and adjust the TX power down - then you can have greater density.

    Run your favourite 3rd party firmware on it (openwrt, dd-wrt, tomato, whatever) - it's specs are pretty awesome for the bucks. 128M Ram, 32M flash, two usb ports, N wireless, 480Mhz Broadcom/MIPS cpu (~twice as fast as most others).

    I use crashplan - it's free as in beer... cross platform and does "to disk" backups - either to a local disk or a disk on a remote system. It does data de-duplication, compression, encryption and only backs up thing that have changed.

    My gaming group played AD&D until 3rd edition came out (and skipped 2nd edition)... we plan on playing 3.X until 5th edition is available.

    Considering the investment we've put into books over the past 8 years - we're not just dropping those books to buy into a new version. So, should we plan on another 8 years? (Ye gods, I'll be in my mid-40s then and my son who's in kindergarten will be in High-school...)

    I'm trying to assume that's humour... but that said...

    If you have a farm of replicated mysql servers (which are read only - as replication is one way here) you need a db to write to.... not reading from it reduces the load on that server.

    So, assuming that your read-mostly - it's actually a nice way to balance the load across multiple systems.
