...RedHat Linux is something that his company has created/assembled - and shared with the world. Only to have some people say "you suck".
His point is that, any innovation is going to have its faults, and that they have to be worked through. RedHat publishes publishes its distro's faults to the world - something that MS and Sun do not fully disclose. That data is being used to say compare Redhat to MS and Sun - an inherently flawed concept.
Now, comparing RedHat to MS because they are trying to make money from Linux is also wrong (IMHO). RedHat gives a lot back to the Linux community - and heck, they even employ Linux geeks to do just want they want to, add to Linux and open source software.
People are too willing to throw stones at RedHat - helping them find the bugs, and correct them would be more in the spirit of Open Source, and definitely more productive.

The biggest complaint I've heard from game companies about linux users is that they don't want to pay for games... that they want the games to be open source.
Does that even apply to a console system as a problem? Since it may not be targetted at linux users per se. Are you afraid of increased piracy?
Can the proposed games for the console system be used on a regular linux system?...or will you do something dastardly/proprietary to thwart that?
Personally, I think that people worry too much about privacy. I'm not saying that it isn't a valid concern - but in some cases it's a bit like putting the genie back in the bottle.
People will fill in contest entries, credit card applications, and survey forms (electronic or otherwise) without even thinking about the privacy issues - but then they'll scream when they get personalised junk mail...
Now the darker end of the spectrum is what bothers me - when someone like your doctor gives out information about you... and it happens. Ask around to anyone you know that's had a baby recently - have they received any 'special offers' in the mail for baby needs? How about telemarketers targetted for the same thing? It happens - the worst I've heard involved a couple who lost their baby only days after it was born... the mail and telemarketers where a constant reminder...
..next you're going to tell me that it's pining...

Was my first linux box... and it kicked for the time... It had a MACH32 video card - and X just seemed to love it.
All in all it was a solid Slackware system...
...that I could've had a sponsored laptop when I went to univiersity...
:)
Life would have been much easier then...
...or I would've just played more video games.
...and the point about news for nerds still stands IMHO.

Having PDC/BDC functionality is a very useful thing - are there no plans to merge it into the main codebase?
I thought that CO2 was one of those things that went from gas to solid... (sublimate? is that the word?)
Either way - it wouldn't be hot to get liquid CO2...

It's just a good idea to flush out the system now and again...
...the win95 "43 day" bug... where it would crash exactly after 43 days...
They never introduced a fix... the sheer idea of running win95 for 43 days was silly, even to MS.
I wonder how long until someone uses the chipset to produce a motherboard...

It would be a good upgrade from my dual-celeron... ;)

I should have to buy another license of windows??? Did it get fried by the lightning strike too?
What if I just wanted to replace my old clone system - and I just want the box... I shouldn't have to pay for another license - that's insane.
The whole argument is garbage.
