These patent guys remind me of little children who see a toy in a magazine and get in a fight over who saw it first. They also remind me of the 'frist post' guys here on Slashdot. They aren't being innovative, they aren't producing anything, and they are a general pain in the rear. They should all be taken out to the toolshed and beaten.

Anyway, who are these nuts? Where are they? I have read about them, but I have not seen any evidence that these creatures still exist in the wild. I am convinced they went extinct in the 60s or 70s. Certainly I have not found any in the environmentalist communities I frequent.

As soon as we apply a field, we couple to a state, it is radiatively coupled to the ground state. I figure we can extract at least ten to the twenty-first photons per cubic centimeter which will give one kilojoule per cubic centimeter at 600 nanometers, or, one megajoule per liter.

Richard Taylor is one of the proponents of this tax. He is the father of Damilola Taylor, who was killed with a knife or broken bottle. Danny and Rickie Preddie, aged 18 and 19, were ultimately convicted of the crime and sentenced to 8 years youth custody. The Taylor family was awarded £11,000 for their son's death. I can certainly understand Mr. Taylor's desire to prevent the same thing from happening to other children, but taxing video games is a pretty weak preventative measure. His target audience doesn't even pay for the video games, their parents do. The whole system reeks. I would offer my idea of justice for Damilola's death, but I doubt it would be well received. Instead to Mr. Taylor I offer my condolences and prayers that he might find peace.

We aren't trying to keep people from crossing the U.S. / Mexico border, which includes the drug smugglers. The U.S. government is too afraid to have a border conflict. The border patrol agents have their hands tied. They have been giving instructions to let people get away. It's a joke and it needs to be corrected.

The Berlin wall was to keep citizens from fleeing. Patrolling the U.S. Mexico border is to keep criminals out. Take your shell game somewhere else.

I'm a very conservative guy, in fact I'm 33 year old software developing, video game playing, gun toting, SUV driving, soda drinking, Jesus freak with a black belt, three daughters, a wife, and a mortgage who would like nothing more than peace on earth in my lifetime. I've played 'violent' video games since there were 'violent' video games. I don't really care for the Grand Theft Auto type of video games, but I've played a couple of them and I don't think I've been warped. I can understand people's frustration with that type of game because it glorifies crime, but guess what, so do %80 of the movies that come out of Hollywood. Almost all video games could be considered violent. Look at Pacman, that weird yellow cannibal that runs around eating 'power pellets' to make him powerful enough to kill the 'ghosts'. Just because someone enjoys playing FPS's, MMORPGs, or other violent games does not mean that they are going to pick up a gun and go on a rampage for laughs. This guy is clueless.

Property taxes in Texas are a little ridiculous, but my daughters will receive a much better public education than I did because of them. If he really wants to do something good for Texas he would be proposing that the borders be properly patrolled. Maybe he should tax illegal immigration. He certainly won't get my vote or any of the other 'conservative' people that I know.

Ninety percent of teenagers that commit suicide have parents that own toasters. Its sad, but true. You may be asking yourself what toasters and teenagers that commit suicide have in common. Well, they don't have anything in common because its just a statistic, just like the gender gap. Just because some field of study is slanted towards some race or gender does not mean that there is some weird social prejudice or conspiracy going on to keep it that way. The only way to get more females interested in computer science is to start making females that find computer science interesting. It is very difficult, if not impossible, to become an expert at something that you don't like to do. In our generation it is mostly males that enjoy the kind of work that computer science offers, in the next generation is might be just the opposite, or it might get worse. I seriously doubt any effort we put toward changing the layout of computer science, to attract women, would be worth the cost. On a side note I'm not sure I'd really be interested in dating / marrying a women in the same field of study as myself. Its difficult enough as it is to move out into unfamiliar territory, but if my wife didn't come from a different background I probably would not have learned to really appreciate some of the other fields of study. I was a computer science major and my wife was a dietetics major, now she is going back to school in nursing.
