people buy expired domains and sit on them so when the original owner wants them back they sell it at 1000x mark up. the domain parker just happened to go with porn. you can see a fine example at bookface.com
My problem with that is when you get reassigned IP space from a spammer. My host aquired a block from ARIN, which used to host russian servers. Well these russian servers were apparently spambots because I just recently found out yahoo does not accept mail from any of my servers. This is a major problem and jumping ship to another host does not guarantee this problem will go away. I had no clue who to contact and ended up requesting new ip space from my provider... but that caused a world of pain for my customers.
I used to think my old boss was crazy when he said he never wanted our antispam solution to rely on any blacklist provider and it didn't really sink in until I was on the opposite end of the spectrum. Blacklists are bad.
1) the 3.2MP camera has a flash, the hero lacks it and you end up with a lot of blurry useless pics. i will never buy a phone without a flash again. and yes i take pictures with my phone, they take perfect for-facebook pics
2) you can use your old sero plan, as long as you have unlimited internet otherwise you'll have high bills and the customer reps will laugh at you. however you should not buy your phones in the store, they are trained to make sure you have everything plans. this is where the clueless monkies at best buy come into play. tell them you have an everything plan and they will continue on like there is no problem. however consider their current everything deal. $70 (after taxes) = unlimited text, data (including tethering), calls to any mobile phone, and 450 daytime minutes for google voice. can you complain?
Anyone know what kind of custom stuff they're build for Android?
Sense UI and a few applications. Nothing spectacular, android steals all the glory. In fact, don't waste your time on the HTC Hero.. wait another week and get the Samsung Moment. Faster proc, onscreen keyboard and physical keyboard, better battery life.
I love my HTC Hero but boy is it slow at times. And I'm not just talking about waiting for an app to load, there are times when the entire device just decides to freeze up for 2-3 seconds while queuing input.
GS-15 pays 6 figures. combined with federal Job For Live(TM) job security, retirement perks that will allow you to continue as a "consultant" making the same salary for 20 more years, and virtually unlimited teleworking... i think that is pretty good deal. I'll sign up
yes, this is all well and dandy for doing math on the fly. so you know you're not getting gouged on certain deals, or to determine tip/tax/fees etc quickly. but if you're calculating a budget for your job i hope, for your sake, you're not wasting your time doing long division on paper..
Now if you'll excuse me, I need to get on the phone with their billing department and figure out why my auto-pay billing keeps billing but never charges the card! I've got over $300 in late fees.. and I don't know why!
you're a fool to use your billers autopayment system. sure it's all great when you get charged the correct amount.. then there's that one random $100 mistake that gets charged to your account. don't worry though, they'll refund it after 30 days. albeit at a profit for them of at least PRIME%
you should always use your bank's billpay site where you can specify the amount. don't let their mistakes cost you money
i really wish we could close these stories out after an insightful post like yours. mod parent up. don't use cisco, dhcpd is freaking trivial. done and done. next
because the strain would have to be identifiable. this means greater detection by virus scanners and the possibility of being exploited by rogue creations.
the authors more than likely have a code repository on their systems that they share with each other. hell, search hard enough and you can find this code shared on their personal websites. the innovative authors take pieces of code from others and re-release the source. another favorite is decompiling code from an author who chooses not to help others or releases something and disappears forever. then the decompiled code is commented and released as is. shady rebranded clones are the result of those releases...
the good criminal software devs are usually the ones who get started at a young age or come from a state with no criminal liability for said work. they eventually retire to legal programming gigs.
even if you don't want one, you should have got an MCSE, especially when microsoft was giving the free retest at the end of last year. reason being, you cannot sell yourself on your resume alone. it's sad but true, you need certs (or an awesome education or publications) to get past HR.
second, if you were knowledged with windows at all, you would know NOT to swap drives between differing drive controllers. what this tells me is that you are a niche admin and when you are presented with a new environment you find the differences to be faults. lastly, windows logs tons of events if you turn up logging.. but it sounds like you didn't know that.
but as you already know, you get what you pay for. they are happy paying you $25/hr for your service whereas an enterprise would gladly pay $75/hr for someone who does not learn by way of mistakes at their cost. take these posts as words of endearment, and try to get practical experience with the software mentioned in the previous posts. also try to work on real hardware, such as sun, hp, or ibm blades. play with real SANs, not a bunch of disks in a drive cage. get into environments where automation is a necessity to survive (500+ servers)....
to just filter out anyone that clicks on all the adword links on a given page considering that maybe 5% of users actually click on ALL of the advertisements?
my 3400lb grand prix gets 32-35mpg on the highway depending on how fast i drive. my last roadtrip with 4 people, and a fully loaded trunk, averaged 33mpg driving the speed limit. this included the occasional dropping down 2 gears (into VTEC/VVi/whateverthefuckGMcallsit 3.8L gas guzzling territory) to pass trucks while climbing hills.
that is right on par with the equivalent 3.0L V6 accord. we like to shit on american cars for their gas guzzling characteristics.. but that's because a lot of americans want to buy the car with the gas guzzling engines. what the fuck do you need a 5 liter V8 in a family car for? almost all american car models have some sort of ridiculous engine option like that. the accord maxes out with a V6 engine.
i will shit on american cars for their quality though. even though i only spent $15k for the car (after taxes and all... you can't get better than that) that looks better than the accord on the outside.. when you sit inside it reeks of cheap engineering (its better than my dad's old chevy lumina, but the stereo is still the same cheap plastic stereo from the 90s ugh). then there's the whole reliability thing... even in their higher end cars (lincoln, cadillac, feh)
ford is in the best position to run away with the american car market. if they borrow from mazda (like they did with the B-series truck) they stand a damn good chance of coming back. they started to do it with the focus, and they started to do it in '05 when they cleared out all their debt and redesigned all their cars.
as someone pointed out on another forum, facebook has a huge problem with cascading deletes. if you delete your account and facebook were to delete all records in all the tables of you, they would take a major performance hit. the only way to delete yourself is to remove all comments, wall posts, and pictures then erase your account
then you must be running a different set of plugins under linux compared to windows. i got an awesome pop-under last night that took me to an antivirus 2009 website. i'm running firefox 3.0.5 on ubuntu 8.10.
Simply for the fact that old drugs lose resale value. Fast. Ever smoked month old stale ass weed? or snorted month old coke? I'd hate to see what happens when you try to inject old heroin into your body. Here is how this drug war really works:
Goverment (through a proxy) sells arms illegally to a rebel group that imprisons innocents to grow/make drugs. Rebel groups sell to entrepreneurial buyers who have a lot of disposable money. This buyer imports the dope into the states and sells it to many smaller buyers at inflated prices. This continues about 4 or 5 generations until it reaches you.
The government will not prosecute the arms proxy, as that would cut into the nations profits. The government has the ability to, but will not raid the rebel groups. Instead we leave that to the goverenments of the foreign countries which generally look the other way (save one or two television raids to make the world think they're trying). The money man importing drugs into the US will only be arrested if enough people can point fingers at him. If he deals in cash and stays low on the radar long enough he can make his money and disappear without the government really caring about him. Now everyone after him is who gets fucked. The government will arrest all small sellers down to the user to show they are tough on the war on drugs.. That is enough of a legal and social deterrent for most users.
What I hate about this ideological drug war, is that it makes people judge you. I am a long time marijuana smoker and support its legalization.. Out of fear of judgement by my peers, I don't tell anyone (except a small subset of friends) that I smoke. Sad really because it helps my depression. But I guess if I told them how the prescribed drugs fuck with my head when i stop taking them, or shreds my stomach over time they would still think its OK because its legal. It's a crock of shit and we all know it. So is the war on terror, luckily it seems that the US population is waking up to that one...

Even well into their maturity, they still have bugs which MS loves refering to as 'Features' or 'By Design'
Such as... I haven't heard anything like that since the Win98 days.
