But they DO check with Movies.. Any one ever bought a rated R movie at Wal-Mart? They check ID and won't sell it to you unless you are 18.. This law is basically comes from the fact that parents do not take responsibility for their children.. There are way to many 8 year olds playing Counter-Strike and other Teen games.
It's not a dupe of last week, it's a continuation of last week.. The main purpose of this article was about Micheal Roberts trying to save the mp3s.. last week was just a rumored destruction of mp3.com.
Did you consider searching the mozilla bugzilla databse for this feature request? And if not there submitting a feature request to the mozilla bugzilla database? They won't know it's a problem unless someone submits it..
It's not that.. I didn't run anything as root.. except the Mandrake update.. that's it and I use my RH systems (and at one point slackware) perfectly fine and have for like 8 years.. I've always had issues with mandrake.. on everysystem I've tried... not correctly detecting hardware that an older RH system does..or the RPM database corrupting completely.. or just plain files dissapearing like this.. they were there when I shut it down.. then I booted it up a few days later and poof.. gone
I do not like this distribution at all. It always breaks on me.. I installed a clean 9.2 install and it was working nice and fine.. And I was like *cool they fixed things*.. But then I installed all the updates.. and Just booted up that system now and most of the menus are missing.. The configuration link is gone.. the system is completely broken.. Same thing happened with my 9.1 install after I installed security updates.. Well at lesast I can clean up 3GB of disk space now.. (1.5 for CD images, and 1.5 for vmware install).
I am still using my Nothgate OmniKey Ultra from 1991, and my 3.5 inch floppy drive that was in my old 386 50Mhz system, not to mention the 212 MB western digital harddrive that was in that 386 system..
@stake was claiming his last day was tusday.. but they never informed him or anyone else until thurdsay... Makeing it seem they decided to fire him after the paper came out wednesday, decided to fire him and "covered their tracks" my saying they already had decided on firing him before the release of the paper. That's why Geeer made the commend about the facts not matching up and creating a "null set".
They are charging That much for it too.. That's rediculous.. The only "commercial" products in it are Java which they give away for free, and the sun one connector...

I see no mention of Screensaver adverts on the mandrake websites.. Only on the PClinuxonline article.. But if you actually read the mandrake information on their website... there is NO mention of screensaver adverts.. Only bookmarks, installation, and the "default" webpage for the browser.. All of which can be changed..
I ran into a similar incident with a powerpoint document. A user came in with a floppy with his power point document which he was editing from the floppy and ran out of space when adding a new slide.. He had been working on it all afternoon and Office could not open it at all. I loaded it in openoffice and tada 14 out of 15 slides recovered. It's amazing that openoffice is more compatible with office documents than office is.
While this is true for IPv4.. it is not so with IPv6 IPv6 does have "number portability" as it has a new routing system that allows for it.. so when you get your block it's your block.
Wow,. When you stop and think about how many 3rd party programs there are compared to how many Microsoft programs there are.. That's a small percentage of crashes caused by 3rd party programs..
This whole case seems to be an issue of what a derived work it.. This is what seems to be SCO's definition to me. (metaphore to cars)
OK.. I design a cool spiffy car radio that I let GM use in their cars... so all GM cars have this cool car radio.. But then I decide to take my cool car radio and decide to give it to Volkwagon later.. but GM says I can't do that because my car radio is a derived work of GM cars..
*DISCLAIMER* The car company names were chosen at random and have no bearing on the morality of said car companies.. Personally this commentor doesn't even own a car.
I think the bigger issue here is about code ownership.. SCO is claiming they own code that IBM wrote themselves (JFS, Numa, RCP) for their Operating systems (OS/2 and AIX). IBM's and everone elses "thought" on that is.. "I wrote the code I own it.. yeah I ported it over to AIX so I could use it there".. SCO is claiming that OH it runs on AIX.. AIX is derived from Unix, therefore we own it, and you can't re-port it to Linux. Then there's the whole SMP thing which thus far proof has been surfaced that shows Alan Cox developed that on a machine donated by Caldera/SCO using information in a publically available book.
this is the impression I got from Darl what's his name from SCO from the McBride interview, is that the SCO Unix license is more viral that what M$ is saying the GPL is.. He basically said that they own any works that any compnay does that happens to work in their licensed Unix code from SCO....
This could be good and bad.. Good:
This means less workload for RedHat, and would allow for packages to be maintained and updated more often then RedHat currently does, as mentioned in the Article. (You did read the article didn't you?) Bad:
However, this means that more people are going to be creating packages and better documentation of how to correctly make a package need to be written and the developers need to be "trained" to make good packages with good dependencies. Fedora is,however, acomplishing this task, so hopefully RedHAt will pick up on all the work they've done..
I was working at a college IT department and we were trying to purchase a copy of Quark, and for I believe almost a month of trying to send them the purchase forms we finally gave up, as they kept "losing" them.. And we just went with Adobe's InDesign..
Um.. They've had that support in there since 1.2.. I have my LDAP server as the main and only source for contacts on my setup.. Just change it in the "Default Folders" tab in the configuration..

M$ might help out for a FEE or sign under an NDA leaving gaim stuck to reverse engineering still..

Gee that sure sounds as though the SCO license is MORE viral than the GPL.

It's rather ammusing..
bummer, then I'm not going to bother downloading it.. I already downloaded the full HIGH-RES E3 demo. (500 MB) I want something NEW!!
