Enlightenment rules!! Rasterman though of everything before everyone else. OK not everything, but this is exactly what was in DR 16. And he was on the very beginning of the whole skinning craze.
What happened to the whole thing about Trademarks not infringing across different markets.. A Comic Strip and a Software Company are significantly different markets.. Now if mandrakesoft were to start making a mandrake linux comic strip then the "mandrake the magician" would have something to complain about..
You didn't have to pay anything to get into the Live portion of the game at the time.. As they were having a "public beta". When they ever finished the beta they were going to have people sign up and pay. They also have had 3 servers for the past 2 or 3 weeks. And unfortunatly most of the "Lag" issue is on the client side due to having to render all of those nicely detailed player characters. As when you got over 20 people in your neighborhood the game started to crawl. I was once in a neighbrohood with 57 people.. I couldn't even move.. I do hope they can fix that major bug as the Live game was a very unique experience that can not be replaced by the expansion pack idea.
I know some employers want you to list all current projects you are working on in your spare time, so you can still work on them off-hours and they still be yours.
But frankly, if they want to own all stuff I do off hours, then they better pay me 3 times as much as I'd be working for them 24/7.
What code? Comparing their line numbers to the 2.4.1 kernel source of the files that actually DID exist in the distribution (several that they claim to infringe don't even exist in the official linux source). And all that comes up is.. a comment here.. some assigments there, a print statment about a APIC bug. a simple if statemnt. (if (info) call_this_func; else call_other_func();.. The biggest "chunk" was around a function that closed STDIN, STDOUT, and STDERR, and then opened the/dev/console for STDOUT.
I downloaded linux kernel 2.4.1 and most of the files they mention don't even exist in the source tree.. Are they comparing things to one of THEIR source trees with THEIR code patches in there or something STUPID like that?
Microsoft was claiming Trademark infringement.. Trademarks and Copyright are two significantly different things.. And trademark only applies to the same market.. Mike Rowe was doing web development.. not software development.. so he should have been able to keep the thing.. Back in my home town there wer two McDonalds.. one the restaurant. the other a clothings store.
Well, I finally managed to get this new release to play mp3 and ogg files.. But it will not play anything else.. no mpg, rm, etc.. I am really dissapointed with this product so far.
It's flash movies.. that's all. nothing fancy. I think they are more advertising their supposed "ad blocking bypasses" which of course don't work with mozilla.
I have an old 9" monitor that can only do 800x600 max res.. that I use for servers.(it moves from machine to machine, when I really need a monitor on the box)..
14. How can SCO expect me to purchase a license when its case with IBM hasn't been resolved yet? What if SCO loses its case against IBM? Will it reimburse Linux customers who purchased a SCO IP License for Linux?
Some Linux users have the misunderstanding that the SCO IP License for Linux hinges on the outcome of the SCO vs. IBM case. If that case were completely removed, Linux end users would still need to purchase a license from SCO to use the SCO IP found in Linux. The IBM case surrounds mis-use of derivative works of SCO UNIX. It does not change the fact that line-by-line SCO IP code is found in Linux.
Ie.. the court case has nothing to do with the Linux licenses.. and by SCO saying that there is infringing code, you are required to pay a license fee to them for your use of linux, without any proof.
I saw these boxes about 2 months ago a gamestop.. This is nothing new at all.. Actually it's more annoying than anything.. As you see the boxes on the shelves, and it's not just one box of doom 3.. it's a whole shelf full.. and you think "Dude it's out".. But no it's not.. It's very deceiving..
I know someone already had something like this to allow you to execute PHP.. although only one statement at a time.. I have that code somewhere.. Should probably update it with all the other PHP stuff I have done to allow you to write entire functions in PHP and execute them w/in MySQL..
How fun would that be.. PHP calling MySQL which calls PHP..:-D.. Ahh straight from the Deptartment of Redundancy Dept.
Netscape 7 IS mozilla.. The only difference is the integrated "netscape mail" and AIM/ICQ clients.. So this guy is using mozilla, just a branded version that says netscape. Though the question is why is it so hard to change the homepage.. all you do is drag the URL over the homepage button..
If they are just using it for mail however,. that's hasn't changed.. Yes, as a web browser netscape 4.x is antiquated and netscape 7/mozilla should be used.. But for an e-mail client, netscape 4.x still works good. (though I don't even have netscape 4.x installed on my system anymore.. Evolution and mozilla mail..)
So for a copyrighted work, I as the copyright owner have to give permission to you the consumer to make a copy.. With the GPL , I give permission for the comsumers to make copies.. They just don't have to ask for everycopy I explicitly give it to them under certain restrictions.. I'd say that perfectly follows and is compatible with the copyright laws. And if the user wishes to use the software I have written under a less restrictive use, they may contact me and we can negotiate a different licensing scheme assuming I get permission from all copy right holder of said software..
Or changing channels.. Reading a book, or playing a computer game during the commercials.. Though alot fo the time I'm programming away and chatting while a commercial is playing hidden away in the corner of my screen, muted as I press enter in XawTV.
spf.pobox.com has pdf converted versions of the docs.. as apparently some versions of M$ Word can't open the documents..
Caller-ID in PDF

News about this patent was posted like a week ago..(with in a week as the link to the patent is still "visited" on my browser)..

That seems rather slow...
I can fill up a 100MBps lan all by my lonesome.. Wouldn't a gigabit netowrk be better?

I ran quake3 on a P133 with a Voodoo2 under linux.
So those sytems are perfectly fast to play pretty much most current games..

You followed the wrong links then.. I am downloading it right now, and I entered no credit card #, it never asked for one..

Why not.. NTFS is nothing more than OS/2's HPFS but slightly modified..
