  1. DCMA or DMCA? on 321 Studios Plays It Safe Against the DMCA · · Score: 0, Redundant

I thought it was the latter, as opposed to the former. So is this like asking your mom to write a note to your teacher verifying that you are indeed exempt from Gym Class? "Tommy can't run today, he is not feeling well" "Our product is legal, LOOK, I have a NOTE!"

The world will be a better place.... Yea Right. If this piece of technology has finally moved from a privlege, to a right, well. Maybe this says something about how badly we need to be connected.

  3. Because of the short pulses on Spark Gaps and Ultra Wide Band Data Transmission · · Score: 5, Insightful

These are supposed to look like noise to anything else transmitting. Since they spread the signal around a LOT of specturm, they are generally just raising the level of background noise.... What happens when enough of these devices get out there, and the noise floor rises to equal Everest?

I also take all the CRAP mail that I get in my Real-Mail box, and stuff it in my envelopes when I send off my bills. Let them throw it away.

  14. I'm Glad on ATI vs. NVIDIA: The Next Generation · · Score: 4, Insightful
That ATI was able to emerge as an actual competitor for Nvidia. Once 3dfx finally died, it looked as though Nvidia might have a stranglehold on the market. The first couple of offerings from ATI were crap, and didn't look too promising, but the 8500 is a perfectly decent chipset, and some of the ViVO features put it way ahead of the GeForce 4 for some people.

I have a DV cam with RCA inputs, and firewire, so my video card doesn't need to be able to capture, just a nice S-Video out for watching downloaded southparks on my Wega in the living room.
