Acually microsoft gives a site license for ALL of it's development software for $799, which includes giving FREE copies away to students.. Although i still would rather goto the student store and buy Kylix Professional for the nice student price of 99 =)

I have acually noticed this in linux as well (but this was with c++'s fstream.h, once it reaches the eof it will not do anything until you call the clear() function, it took me weeks of pulling my hair before i figured that one out)
Honestly what did you expect? you are living with someone else and i don't know your relationship but i really doubt that this is the first time she has brought this issue up, and if you are living with someone else you have to both agree on your relationship, it doesn't work if the balance is on one side or the other. You need to compromise with her about things... and a jack in the bathroom is alittle overboard... it is like having a television in the shower..... a relationship is not just for you, it is for both of you, and she should not have to live in a place that she doesn't feel is her home and you shouldn't either.
I acually live in Fullerton, Ca (which is right next to garden grove). And i have to wonder if the type of people who goto internet cafes are really going to be the "gange banger" type. Mabey the internet Cafe's will cause another riot like at Knotts Berry Farm two years ago.
It really depends what your project is, if you are developing a very large GUI Interface then RAD Programs such as Delphi Kylix VB or C++Builder (note 3/4 are from borland and not microsoft =)) (btw Bornald C++Builder has a command line compiler in it's package).
Anyways, i have grown to really like how much less time it takes to create guis with C++Builder.., But after you have created the guis it really doesn't matter, it just makes debugging easier when you have the line of code you are breaking at highlighed and don't have to search for it. So overall i acually prefer the GUI Based compilers but there is still a big need for command line compilers for things like cron compilation.
Anyways, i think i have made my point. OH another point while i am on the subject is if you have to develop for windows use Bornald C++Builder, you will not regret it, i hate the interface of VC, okay i am done now.
I honestly think that the first 2 seasons of earth final conflict were really good, they had a continuing storyline so you could watch the characters develop and you don't have to watch a TNG episode with the voyager cast. Granted some of the acting in EFC is bad and they are going for the "lets put as many super attractive people infront of computers" approach but the storyline is one of the best i have seen in a sci-fi series.
Btw whoever decided to kill off Boone should die, i loved his character so much better than the new guy.
Compuserv has offered the same deal: $400 rebate for a 3 year committment on a new computer. They have offered it for atleast 6 monthes in California (i live in california, i have no idea if they have it in other states, but they probally do)
I know this has nothing to do with the subject. But there are a couple reasons why your VCR might be interfereing with your stereo.
One is that your VCR emitts alot of background "noise," to solve this you could either buy audio cable with more shielding or move the stereo unit away from the VCR.
Another reason may be if it is a 60 Hz it might be your audio cable grounding (one of the hot wires are touching ground), and that would require new audio cable.
As a result of bad threats, today at my school one of the schools proctors saw a student shake up an object and thew it in the middle of our 700 Quad.
After lunch every student with a class in the 700 quad were supposed to report to the East Gym, The Claremont Police Department, the L.A. County Sherrifs, the Pomona Bomb Squad, the L.A. County Fire Department we all called. At about 2:00 the Asst. Principle went on the P.A. and said that the suspecious object had been destroyed and the 700 Quad was clear..
My friend, equiped with his police scanner, heard that it was a power-ade bottle with some duct tape on the neck. The extremly explosive object in the bottle suprisingly happened to be Fruit Punch Power-Ade. As for the person who threw the bottle? My friend also heard on the scanner that a suspect was "detained", as for who that person was, and if he acually had committed the evil act of littering? we will never know.
