well, XDamage is an extension, which means, it doesn't modify the existing protocol, but adds more request/response types to said protocol, via a well defined extension protocol.
last I checked, the mirror in question was destined for one of those KH11 NSA satellites, when it was discovered it was flawed. then they decided to give it to astronomy...
As I said, You don't know what you are talking about. the core stuff won't EVER change, all new stuff goes into these really practical things called "X extensions" which are some sort of plugins that can be used when available, or simulated if not present. now, stop trolling and go do your homework before whining, you have a lot to read on xorg.freedesktop.org
WTF are you talking about ??? X.org is an X server, which is similar to what you have inside your NCD thing (except the NCD is stuck at XFree86 4.1.x X.org itself doesn't communicate with your NCDs, the Xlib in your server does (where the X applications, also known as X clients, reside). the xlib that comes with X.org does not break compatibility, and still uses the core X protocol (it's X11R6.x), otherwise, it wouldn't be an X 11 library. Now, your NCD things are flash upgradable. you should kick NCD in the nuts for not making a newer firmware available for that expensive hardware you use. As for us, we have switched from NCD based X servers to EPIAs booting from the network with PXE...

At the risk of slashdotting myself, you may look into navsys which has the goal of becoming a world-wide mapping collaborative project
the idea here is to boycott nokia and tell them that you are, weather by email or snail mail. More power to you if you can hit them more thoroughly than with a cell phone, such as if you can recommand against nokia hardware for things like firewalls and the like.
here in France, we don't use no pen (in fact, writing on the ballot nullifies it). you just select one out of a handful of papers and put that one in an envelope. simple and to the point, there's no way to cheat, nothing to interpret

This happened after an upgrade from Unix to Windows.
Shouldn't that read downgrade instead ???
guess that's because most north americans don't ride bikes, but cars...
if anyone had bothered RTFA, the progam in question is merely a mac os X frontend to ffmpeg, which would probably take a day or so to do in python.
Nothing to see here, the author is an ass and his program is only needed for clicky-clicky idiots.
Us, smarties, use ffmpeg through teh command line, and don't need to pay anyone anything.
real player 10 supports playing theora/vorbis ogg streams out of the box

yeah, will be in debian in a couple of years

worse offenders in this category are the plastic fiber optic cable used to link a CD player with the amplifier
I don't care about whether booting once a day needs 1 or 2 minutes) ;D
You're using Gnu/Linux and reboot once a day ? you must be doing something wrong
you forgot my project (shameful plug)
NavSys
working on it (sony's thing is more advanced, but would only work in japan)
check here: navsys
according to the article, the thing needs batteries to work...
remove the battery, no more tracking...
dunno, never tried that (we don't have windows anywhere in sight around here...)

no, that one is categorized as "intentionnal crime by application of weapons of mass destruction"
it has PXE, so you can boot from the network... that should be good enough :D
the concept of absentee ballot is ludicrous to begin with...
much easier would be put the "bush" or the "kerry" paper in the box...

Make the machine idiot proof
no, stop using machines that can be rigged for such important matters such as votes...
