AC's are people who worry about karma, or people who don't have the time or don't think it worthwhile to obtain an account, not people worried about privacy issues.

What freaks me out is that I can't tell whether they were spewing out propaganda back then too, or if they became the borg only in recent years. News like this make me suspect the world would benefit greatly if someone carefully analyzed Snow White, Fantasia, The Little Mermaid etc. I wouldn't be surprised if one were two find more than a couple of satanic messages when they are played backwards.

And this quote is getting old already. Please note that it refers to essential liberty and temporary safety. I really think we've had enough of "two legs bad! Four legs good!" mentality, it's about time to make some arguments that are actually thought through.

It is true that we think different on a number of issues, but on the important ones, we most of the time sing in unison. I'd like to see Slashdot polls on how many people think Dmitri should be set free, whether the DMCA is just, whether PGP should have backdoors etc. I'm sure there would be as much, and probably more, agreement than in any single political party. Not everyone always agrees on everything, but that's life. It does not necessarily imply that we can't make a difference that most Slashdotters would consider good.
