Part 1 - Cheerleaders in mini-skirts rushing out excitedly to hug NYCL and toss him in the air. Part 2 - Cowboy Neal runs out and lifts NYCL in the air.
Part 3: During the Superbowl Half-Time...
(Crowd cheering) Ray Beckerman! New York Country Lawyer!
(NYCL was standing in the middle of the football field. He stared at the field entrance warily, expecting CowboyNeal to appear again. Nobody came out.)
(Suddenly, NYCL was hugged from behind and hosted into the air! The spectators had ran onto the field and came to hug him!)
Because the cluster setup is highly complex and fragile, you should hang a sign directly above the hardware.

So, anything at all that threatens the RIAA's hold over radio playlists must (in the eyes of the RIAA) be killed off at all costs, because the alternative is the death of the RIAA. They are like a cornered animal -- almost defeated, but at their most dangerous.
Ideas? What they may do? What we can do? (I doubt they'll hire assassins, so I'll just focus on more probable issues.)

some people buy operating systems when there are perfectly good operating systems available for free.
The OS they buy, can play games. Just treat it like an expense, like a PS2 or X-Box console, but with an additional advantage: it's not locked to hardware from any specific manufacturer.
But then, you knew these already.
So what do I know?

Finally, a post on the member companies being responsible for RIAA's actions. You Sir, are a good independent, objective thinker.
I'd say RIAA, being a trade group, is nothing more than a tool controlled by the member companies. Therefore, our emotions should not be directed at RIAA itself, but instead, should be at the individual companies. Skimming through Mr Beckerman's blog, I don't see "RIAA vs Joe", but rather "Company vs Joe".
What do you think?
P/S: I suspect some Web trolls can't even remember the names of the big 4. They simply like to pick a single entity - RIAA - to cast the blame on.
I too don't realize STP must work on both switches. Thanks for relating the story to us. Hope it doesn't happen again.
(Yes, I'm the AC who made the cheap joke above.)
It appears that single-player games can afford to have real endings, yet be successful in a sequel.
Not sure about Warcraft though.
Others include movies (Indiana Jones, Star Trek) and books (Tintin, Asterix). Weird, huh?

A great response. I wished you hadn't posted anon so there could be follow-up to your experienced insight.
Totally agree. If only he posted under his name, and if only we can mod him +50 Insightful.
GUI design is a complex art, one that takes a long time to learn to do well...
I'm not a programmer, so I respectfully defer to your knowledge.
Question: GUI can be greatly improved by:

Sounds just like what I do on the toilet bowl every day.
Or what the lucky married men do every night.

I use 240VAC single-phase, you insensitive clod!
Hmmm, I wonder what happens if I connect 340Vp-p
Maybe he just want to tilt the panels towards the directions of the winds? You know, issue a command from the basement, or something geeky like that?
Can I get a discount for the vacation?

Shhhh! The bad guys read Slashdot too. Don't let them realize the truth!
Windows is a gaming OS for x86 hardware. It's target audience are gamers.
We shouldn't be using a gaming OS for serious work, should we?

Meanwhile there are signs of a possible power shift...
Disclaimer: I'm not an American, therefore feel free to duct tape my mouth. :)
Are they really repenting, or simply calling in heavier artillery at all levels?
Somehow, I feel they're changing only because of falling reputation and public outcry.
What do you think? You don't have to respond if you're giving me duct tape as my Ash Saturday present.

I think SCO didn't have many sellable products or services to begin with.
RIAA, on the other hand, dominates the music industry.
I think the keyword here is cash flow.
In the middle of the stadium...

Cowboy Neal runs out and lifts NYCL in the air.
Good man!
Does it run Java?
(Just joking!)
... fashion a noose with the ethernet cable.
Ethernet noose? Bah! That won't hold the weight.
You should use V.35 cable instead. I'm sure OP has plenty of them at home.
I'm so proud of her. *sniff*
