Good post. The poster you responded too is the exact reason I no longer play RTS' online. They believe that the destination must be reached as quickly as possible, completely ignoring the fun of the journey.
I don't think I've ever FINISHED a game of TA. (When the "Dead commander ends the game" option is off anyway.) Playing the AI, it's dragged on for hours. The game didn't end, but I had a blast. Not played the game in a couple of years, but I used to play until my aging system started creaking due to how much was going on, then quit.
Best map I ever played was the Lone Ranger map. Player at the center starts with a ton of resources, and everyone else teams against them. Fantastic. I love Starcraft, Warcraft etc... Warcraft 3 especially. But nothing matches the unbridled insanity that is TA.
Only game I'd rank up with TA is Myth II. Another game which is still going strong, thanks to Project Magma.
TA and Myth = Gaming Nirvana. Warcraft 3 is the only RTS to come close.
Since Cavedog have long since ceased to exist, there's always the P2P option. On Bit Torrent, you can find an archive of the game and it's two expansions.
Just figured I'd mention it, since I've not seen the Commander Pack in well over 3 years.
Enjoy the hydrogenated fats clogging your arteries from your quick fix of popcorn. Microwave popcorn is loaded with the stuff. Be sure to let Orville know when their manufacturing procedures leave you terminally ill.
How is this news, anyway? I've known this for years. It's also been on several cooking shows on the Food Network. (Pretty sure Alton Brown covered it a couple of years back.)
Next up on Slashdot, "Scientists discover that water is wet."
You're forgetting the fact he can also suck his own dick. Seriously, I've seen him do it. It's tough for him, what with his build, but there's definite tongue-dick connection.
Perhaps they should contribute their money to, say, helping the homeless, rather than saving some crappy TV show. To throw in three million dollars to save a TV show is just sick.
"Humbug, m'dear; my taste is always impeccable. After all, I married you."
If you're not married, you will be soon with that smooth talking:)
My wife thought I was nuts for buying the complete "Sports Night" boxed set. All 45 episodes in one box. Was rather pricey. But she's sat and watched most of them with me:)
Sadly, I've not had as much luck persuading her to watch "Sledge Hammer":)

Good point about "Once Upon a Time in the West". That DVD is amazing. Not to mention dirt cheap now!
I think, sadly, Leone's classic is a little too out of the mainstream to be on the list.
I was surprised to see Fight Club only seventh on the list, when a lot of folk still consider it one of the benchmarks of the DVD format.
Score:5, Insightful, on a post from someone who clearly didn't read the article. Otherwise they'd have known it was the best DVD's, not the best MOVIES.
And Godfather is overrated piffle, and men only say they like it because they fear their friends may think they're gay if they don't, despite the underlying homosexuality in all three films.

The article was, if you read it, about the quality of the DVD releases, and TRT is a very good DVD set.

Regarding the earlier comment on Pearl Harbor: The movie may suck ass until things start blowing up, but as a DVD release goes, the 4 disker is incredible, only bested, IMO, by the LOTR movies.
Now, LOTR: The reason the scouring wasn't done was budgetary I believe. Jackson wouldn't have half-assed it, meaning they simply couldn't afford to do it up to the standard of the rest of the movies.
Call bullshit all you want. I don't care. He had around 600 disks, and as he got newer stuff, the old stuff cycled out. Like most pirates, he never really kept much.
If you're gonna call bullshit, at least have the guts to do it with a username.
I had some friends who were a ways up in the rankings on the Amiga. When FAST, the Federation Against Software Theft (look them up on Google, they did some hilarious print ads) were busting people locally, these two friends panicked. One buried his disks in his back garden. The other, worried they'd come calling and find his 600 or so disks... Kindly bought them round my house to hide them.
I didn't mind. Gave me time to go through them all:)
Oh, and said friend who buried the disks in his garden was also into phreaking, and buried all that stuff too.
It says on the site that there will be video available to buy.
Currently downloading them. They will make an interesting addition to my MP3 player. Always wanted to go to one, but sadly never managed it. This is a good substitute. Curious to hear how the ones that were accompanied with Powerpoint presentations hold up without the visuals.
Actually according to a Jewish friend, the 25th was Shabbat or something like that.`

The twat will change his tune when he sees how much money they make. The activity will ALWAYS go on. Why NOT make it legit, and make a percentage?

I don't see why people are mentioning crypto. Fingerprinting? Archive the movie. Zip it, Rar it, Tar it... Whatever. Bingo, no matching fingerprint.

For the first part (all American team), American's are patriotic to a retarded level. Hence Bush won the election.
As for the second part... In an era when everything seems to come from Japan, the fact you can use native equipment is pretty cool.
