Why another digital format? Wouldn't it be just as easy or easier to just put in a small tcp stack and rj45 port? Gigabit should be more than enough to move HD tv over cat6 cable or fiber cable. Why do we need yet another digital cable? A built in hub, IPv6 and a basic standard on how to identify components would be all you would need.

You are absolutly right. Buying a newspaper doesn't pay for the newspaper. It is only a disincentive to take one and not read it. You are more likly to read it if you spent $.75 or $1.00 on the paper than if you were just to pick up a stack of 10 freebies. This gets them more eyes on sending out less papers than it would for them to send out far more papers for free.

You even see Democrats cheering that they shot it down. Not that they fixed anything just that they were able to make it not pass out of pure spite for GWB. With all the crap that GWB does, he has one decent plan and the Dems shot it down. No I'm not bitter.

Yea, the biggest problem this faces is not the cost of making the nano tubes, but the cost to license music that will last 72 hours and not drive people nuts. Once Nasa Engineer was quoted saying "It's easy in a short elevator ride of less than a minute. Most people can handle even the worst music for that log. A ride into space will have to have good music." Of the 900 Trillion estimate for the project more than 75% is in license fees to the RIAA.

Apparently an African American within earshot thought this was racist. As a systems admin and a long time Linux exclusive user I bought a Macbook pro. OSX is nice. Still has that comercial stink about it and there are many places that it falls short of the seemless everything works out of the box stuff that apple seems to tout. But over all it is, I'd say, well above average.

I have to agree with what you have said though. I use OSX not because I like it all that much, but because I don't want to go through the work of repartitioning and installing Linux on my Macbook. Over the past 3 months I have installed over 1000 Linux boxes and don't really want to work on another one. (Yes I am building out a large scale data center)

Now everytime I sit in front of my Desktop I really start to miss it. I'm sure eventually I'll get linux put on here, but for now I am going to go ahead and stick with OSX. Who knows maybe with Lepord I'll really start to enjoy it.
