I'm not from the USA though, so I lack that "Sheriff and a saloon and many guns!" kind of view on individual liberty as opposed to colective beneficts dispensed by the Government.
Wow, that has got to be the scariest mind set I have ever read. Welcome to 1984, The government KNOWS what's best for you. You have no desires that are not prescribed by your direct officials. Hey, it's a brave new world.
The biggest problem with cryptology right now is the inability to factor large prime numbers. Once we have the computeing power to do so cryptology strength will be increased greatly.
I First started reading slashdot just for the articles. Then I posted once, then twice. soon I was posting 2 or three times a day. It was January 3 2001 when I got my first, first post. It was so exelerating, I have been trying for first post ever sence. I can't help my self.....
Linux has grown far from its humble beginings of an OS Kernel. I refer to my computer as a Linux computer. At our company the Windows team is called the Intel Team yet my Intel based Linux systems don't belong to their group. They are called "Linux servers"
Perception is the only way of the liberal. If you can't see a direct effect of something it doesn't exist. Burning coal doesn't produce a tangeable item that they can point at and say "Look, see!! BAD!!!"
is there any diffrence in the ammount of waist produced? Being assured that it wont melt down or spin out of controll is good, but to get past the anti nuke arguments it'll have to be at least a little cleaner.
or how about switchable. Perhaps some type of radio switch that tells them to switch on or off depending on if you want normal light, infravision, ultraviolot vision etc...
Is the PS2 that underpowered or is this just a familiarity problem? Or is just optimizing for the GameCube that much different than the PS2? I'd think Capcom would have plenty of experience with the PS2 by now.

Try to name three things the Government does good. Not merely acceptable at a high cost to the tax payer, but actually good.
And no growing in power, control and bureaucracy is not good(tm).
No, Government is always bad, business is usually bad. If you have a choice of 1 in a million or 1 in a hundred which would you go for?
European Imperialists, and they think the US is bad.
3. profit.
Not if they are really big, I mean REALLY BIG!!! Like way over a hundred
no, it just seams that way. Chick's will put out just to shut you up.

Mmm crab people, walk like people. Taste like crab.

I also hope that, when IBM starts making money with Linux, that some moral compass directs them to give something back.
Umm, they are putting 100M into linux software? I think they are expecting "the getting something back" part of the deal.
Moores law of...well...Law. (specifically tax law)
Law will double in size and complexity and have the efficiency cut in half every 18 months.
My linux computer is so over run with spyware and viruses that it is completely unusable and it is firewalled.
I connect my fresh installed XP system directly to the internet and I can go months before I get any malicous programs on my computer.
hmm, or do I have that backwards?
I wish they'd release Sarge already so that Xorg will go into unstable.
Until they abuse it I'm all for it.
Well they kind of are. If you think of Lighthouses as location devices and GPSs as downloading location data from a web of satalites.

Just don't make much if any money off it. For the most part it is not fair use, but many fan films for star wars and star trek are made.
Some will even sell you the one you lost last week. I've seen the program before. It's great.

Good thing they duped it because it's a great story and I missed it the first time.
This is awsome. I wish they'd make a for profit version similar to this in the $150-200 range.
