How exactly is the US telling lies? The Chinese have openly stated that they did the test. Sure there is a lot of junk up there from the US and Soviets but we also didn't purposely blow up a satellite thereby in one second increasing the amount of debris by 20%.

Yeah maybe this will prevent people from snorting it or grinding but most people take full pills anyways. First, the only people who snort it are people who have done a lot of blow and think it'll be better but due to the chemical composition of OC you actually lose much of the high using that method. Second, if you eat one on an empty stomach you don't really need to grind it to get a fast release. Most people who have used it more than a few times know it's best just to take it normally.

Essentially, they're spending a lot of time and money and the end result will be that the illegal trade continues with no disruption... pretty much a microcosm of the War on Drugs in general.

First, if LPs "sound like ass" you did not hear it on a good cartridge/needle combo or the record was old and damaged. Very few people take the time to clean their records and spend the money to buy and regularly replace high end needles, this causes the records to be damaged over time and sound like crap. Now personally I prefer LPs over CD but I don't think the difference is hugely significant. However, if you make the jump to 45RPM EPs there is simply no comparison, the increase in quality is massive.

The moral of the story is that you can get better quality from vinyl but you're gonna have to spend a ton of money or you can go buy a $20 cd player and most people won't notice the difference either way.

I would hate to go rent a movie to watch it, then wait while Best buy rebooted their ./ed servers and got it to me.

The same reason why Bit Torrent scares the hell out of the MPAA (no need for huge bandwidth to rapidly supply a movie) also makes it ideal for legitimate downloading. Eventually movies will be distributed using BT or a similar protocol.

How many music files that you downloaded for free did you acquire the consent from the creator or rights holder? You may personally feel that intellectual property should be free but our society allows IP to be owned.

If you don't like it then get the laws changed. I believe the War on Drugs is immoral, but using drugs is still against the law. Do I feel that doing drugs is wrong? No. This does not change the fact that drug users are in fact criminals under our system of laws.

The fact that you think downloading music isn't wrong does not change the fact that it is a crime.

What does he do? Goes to some electronics store where they told him he shouldn't get floor speakers, that he should get five really small speakers that plug into a very crappy sounding sub. Their system was more expensive and due to this in his mind had to be better.

Anyways, he had me over after he set them up and they sounded pretty bad to me, especially at the high volume we were listening at. Needless to say, the speakers were completely blown in a couple weeks.

The funny thing is I've told him they're blown and there is insane distortion and he doesn't seem to really mind. I no longer give him advice on audio components...

I started playing professionally on Empire/Party a couple years ago and now I rarely play on those sites not only due to the game selection but also because the other sites have vastly superior software.

The whole thing about people freaking out over bots is laughable. I cannot even imagine how high the edge would be against a bot once you figure out it's betting patterns, it certainly has to be easier than doing the same for a human. Like you, I've won a significant amount of money at the higher limit games and I have never used any collusion or cheating. I get the impression that those who are consistent losers would rather blame a conspiracy than acknowledge their own poor play.

I disagree that they want Joe Six-pack to easily circumvent it. They want it to be enough of a hassle to stop Joe Six-pack from even attempting it. The people who make protection schemes know that they can be easily overcome by a knowledgable person but they also know that the majority of people do not fit in the category.

An Xbox or PS2 can be modded to allow downloaded and burned games to be played yet I would guess that relatively few "Joe Six-packs" have done this. Most people don't even know what Bit Torrent is let alone own a DVD burner.

Compare that with a four year degree where a very large portion of computer science classes do not involve any sort of coding. The focus is on the fundamentals of how computers work and how languages are constructed. With this knowledge, it is then possible to adapt to any new technologies that emerges. This is why I believe a long "lump" of education can be useful.
