    When the Macondo oil well (Deepwater Horizon) was leaking, the chemicals applied to break down the oil were as hazardous to marine life as the oil was. Many were detergents or similar compounds.

    I had interview notes from about twenty people. Some were hired, some not.When I was moving to another department I removed some of my notes from the records and took the rest home, saved them for a few months then destroyed them. Didn't want people who followed me in the job to share my opinions with other workers, some don't know what to not say or when to just shut the hell up.

    My friend David uses his real name on gmail. david.a.xxxx@gmail.com. I don't know if he gets a lot of spam or other stuff but he's smart and would just deal with it, delete it, etc.

    It's the Julia Sweeney Effect. (It's Pat!). No mention of gender, Chris, Pat, and Taylor can be the name of a male or female and can there be a difference in how the situation is different between sexes? Also one person who wants attention will try to take over a conversation, A co-worker Jim did this many times. In casual conversations I usually just listen 'cause there's usually one who dominates or two who argue too much.

    Automotive: Brake master cylinder, slave cylinder. I never thought of my truck as a plantation. The word master is in common use as a superlative like a master mechanic or machinist. Slave not so much.

    My employer used .gov and I didn't use it much for personal email. A friend asked me what to use to contact his friends. He said most use AOL and I said to use that to avoid the need to notify them of a gmail address or other service. I've never used facebook, etc.

    The employee ( doctor) parking area at the medical center I go to isn't full of expensive cars. My doctor wears a nice watch but went through a divorce and that likely cost some money and took an emotional toll too.

    Remember Roundup Ready seeds? Engineered to produce crops that would survive direct application of the herbicide. Farmers were coerced to use Roundup and also buy seed instead of saving or banking seed from a previous season.     BBQ. I bought BBQ in Texas from people grilling in their yard. Near my home there is Barnes BBQ. The motto is "Let us bring a taste of the South to your mouth". Good pork, beef, and chicken.

    A friend worked at a Ford dealer, he sold me parts for forty percent off list price and there were lower prices listed. Most of the profit is from parts and service, not vehicle sales. 4X mark-up is common.
