Where do you live that a basic cable package on top of your internet is only around $5 more? I'm really curious as there is nothing like that, that I know of, around here.
Another solution that seems to be coming due to need is the use of Physician Assistants in place of doctors. PA's have to be overseen by doctors but you can arguably have good health care for many people by combining many PA's under one doctor to see numerous patients. In many rural areas, this is becoming the norm and is good financially when dealing with everyday ailments.
I've thought for a long time that maybe there was a place for someone who's more than a nurse but less than a doctor. But the politics of that industry gives politics a bad name. It'd be the demarcation dispute to end them all.
They are called Physician Assistants (or in some cases Nurse Practitioners) and are fairly common.
If I am going to shell out $600 for a device, I intend to use it as I see fit and not be dictated by anyone on how I should use my shiny new toy.
If that's your attitude then: 1.) A simple jailbreak allows you to do such things 2.) Not sure how this preferred home screen is "Draconian". You're also free to "install any OS that can work with your Apple phone that you want". 3.) I would agree with this, but have yet to need more than is built in, YMMV. 4.) There's over 200k iPhone apps. They do have some limitations but how else do you account for the stability of the phone except by standards? Or you could use a simple jailbreak.
Your last sentence just negated all your points by you being able to jailbreak it b/c you want to use it how you want to. Also, not sure how the iPhone "has the exact opposite of all four of these points". You must find many things in life "horribly draconian".
You didn't give any reasons as the GP asked, you just restated the supposed fact. It is implied that you would tell HOW HTC leapfrogged Apple, not just restating some tag line.
Personally, I hope Android phones do leapfrog and shame the iPhone as it will be better for us as consumers. Though I've seen it plenty of times that features are not the entire picture in the smartphone market.
When my provider only gives me 7mbps for a reasonable fee (relatively), a G router, let alone an N are plenty. Are there any home use providers in the US that would give you anything approaching speeds where even G couldn't keep up? Even for the foreseeable future? There's nothing Cox provides on their roadmap I've seen that does.
My Blu-ray is wireless-bridged (G). Plenty fast enough for any download material or even HD Netflix streaming.
Less here is actually rather subjective. Sure it doesn't function with the same purpose and may have less in the hardware spec, but the overall experience of being quick, reliable, and very good at the tasks it does shouldn't be understated.
You act as if no one is working on it. Why the strawman Chicken Little?
The more economically feasible it is for those alternatives, the more will come about. You talk like we'll be at maximum output one day, then the next there will be nothing. It doesn't work like that, there will be a slow steady decline in inexpensive output, then they'll move more to the more expensive sources like the oil sands and related while other tech becomes more financially viable and our tech improves.
Same way with me, it's the sense of satisfaction of finishing it so I can move on to other things. As I've gotten older I'm more wary of what I start and when as I know it'll consume a lot of my mental time and desire to finish it. It's almost an addictive trait, except I only do this with games.
Being task oriented, I'm one of those gamers that has to finish a game (if it's good). Like the KOTR, HL2, etc games or such, I couldn't let a week, let alone a month go by before playing to try and finish. It actually kind of stinks as it makes it hard to focus on other things when that task isn't completed. Funny this is the only area I know of where this habit has formed.
Agree with many other posters, I enjoyed Iron Man more than TDK. I even bought the movie and have watched it a ton (replay value). I saw TDK in the theaters once. That was enough.
Chiropractors are great, if you get the right one. The problem is a few have given the practice a bad name. We don't treat whole professions by the actions of a few do we? Some do just want to have you in for 20 treatments, extending their insurance payments, others still claim to be able to cure numerous ailments.
My brother is one though that does what helps the patient. Roller table massage, musle-stim (electro-shock) on the stiff and cramped muscles, heat packs, etc, and of course initial x-rays to see about adjustments and issues.
My bro-in-law is a physical therapist. In my state, they have gotten spinal manipulation rights now so he and my brother actually do a lot of the same things. They each have their strong points.
If I have muscle issues not related to skeletal, I'm going to a PT. For pinched nerves or stiff necks, etc, I'm going to a chiro.
This HTML5 video works on iPhones and is privately hosted, not pulling from Youtube. [jilion.com] Not only does it work, it works very well, loading much faster than Youtube videos do on my 3GS.
"Works very well" is rather subjective. On my 3GS it looked like a bad YouTube video horribly compressed with lots of smearing. And I've got 5 bars of 3G.

So where would this leave Chrome OS theoretically?
"You can work 40 hrs and retire well--if you're single". FTFY

So would there be a way to hack this to show a lower amount transferred to AT&T? 200MB plans for all!
Fringe area or possibly just a bad battery. They are fairly inexpensive to replace yourself.
calling his opposition a bunch of losers
Oh the humanity! Does the right-wing BS know no bounds! May there be a pox on his house.
I know nothing of Canadian politics but this reasoning is weak sauce.
Because most people don't site close enough to see the pixels in that large of a TV.

Yup, at least what Netlix calls it's HD signal, g is plenty.

efficiency of 1.5 to 2 percent. That's not incredibly efficient, but the convenience factor makes up for it.
Not incredibly efficient? I believe that is the understatement of the week. And how in the world does "the convenience factor" make up for it?

And at Chick-fil-A you can turn in your toy for an ice cream cone instead!

How did they "refuse to return it"? I keep hearing this but Apple asked for it back and they complied.

Not many will understand that 'Space Camp' reference.
