  1. Please come up with a snappy name on Viruses Enlisted as Nano-builders · · Score: 4, Insightful

If you continue to refer to them as "viruses", people will never support this sort of thing.

Its like the people who follow Bush on "cloning". Oh sure, some of them have legit religious opposition, but most blindly think that a "clone" is some sort of sci-fi copy of yourself, when in reality, a full grown human clone would be an identical twin, and a totally different person, except for genetic traits.

People are going to see virus and thing "little organism that kills" and we will never even get started.

    I hate stupid people.

You get what you pay for, I guess.

On the other hand, there are a ton of well-written FAQ's on there. Its the only place I go if I want to know if I missed secrets in a game, how many hit points the boss has, etc.

i don't know that pedophilia (as a mental disorder) is any more sick than homosexuality (as a mental disorder), or bestiality. They are both simply sexual misdirection from procreation, but neither inherintly wrong.

To act on the pedophilia would be wrong though, unlike homosexual sex between adults. But thats more of a matter of the childs ability to consent than the fact pedophilia is WORSE than any other fetish/orientation.

Quite simply, there is a difference between being attracted to children and acting on it.

There is no conceivable reason people should be resticted from producing computer generated child porn that causes no harm to children directly.

By the way, when it comes to speech and art, it doesn't matter what it causes indirectly. I don't care if Grand Theft Auto increased auto theft by 10%, or Doom caused columbine, or if child porn increases sickening child rape. It simply is NOT an excuse to restrict peoples liberties.

And the supreme court, even this rather conservative supreme court, understands it. Huzzah.

I'm not trying to flame, but try and remember that for every 5,000 person private school full of geeks and intellectuals there are 10 10,000+ person public universitys full of people taking "College Algebra" and living out 4-6 more years of high school. I say this, because, I don't know *any* college students (and I know alot being employed by a university) who watch MTV, infact I would say that most despise it. These are the same college students who were "sticking it to the man" on napster... MTV *is* the man.
You obviously didnt go to a Public University.
Oh and guess what, college students are chronically poor by definition.
