I'm not sure what's worse. The suspected presence of MS astroturfing, which is very difficult to prove. Or, the obvious ramblings of a juvenile Linux zealot with his head up his ass.
Get the fuck off Slashdot and go back to BoycottNovell where that shit belongs.
At my karma level I can pretty much say anything I want without worrying about the consequences. More to the point, it's not possible for someone like you to be educated. So I'll simply say, "Fuck you, ignorant asshole", and that feels pretty good.
I have fond memories of this game. Robotron 2084 was one of the first 3 arcade machines my father purchased, used from a local arcade in Burton, Michigan. I don't think I'll ever rekindle the feeling of seeing real arcade machines in the living room. It was a real "Silver Spoons" moment for me.
Our Robotron machine died as a result of the cinder-block sized linear power supply which fried a rectifier and 2 ICs on the main board. Today I still play the game via MAME (solid blue label romset). My current high score is 4,515,850 on the default settings. I actually find the keyboard is far superior to the dual joysticks as they don't cause as much fatigue.
No, because most people are ignorant and/or stupid. They will often blame Microsoft for any computer problem. Bad hard drive, faulty memory, seized cooling fan? I've heard people blame Microsoft for symptoms that occurred due to these exact problems. I'm sure you would too, simply out of spite.
The article correctly points out that sound recording, editing and mixing is fine on Linux.
Which is bullshit, because doing any audio production on generic hardware is on the top 10 list of things not to do. There's a reason people buy the expensive audio cards. Noise and interference are a huge problem on standard PC audio devices. Even worse if it's on-board audio.
No, the link you provided is how Doom 3 looked for people who were playing the game on the same monitor that came with their first Packard Bell computer from 1992. Even if these monitors could display a proper picture, the idiots using them didn't have a clue as to how to adjust any of the picture settings on the monitor or in the game.
If Windows 7 catches on, it won't be long before you run across software that refuses to run on XP.
It's common today to find software that won't run on anything older than Windows 2000. That's largely because Windows ME, 98 and 95 were not based on NT. To assume Microsoft would release another NT based operating system that is so radically different that it would spawn "Windows 7 only" software is not only wrong, it's downright asinine.
Absolutely! The same can be said for Linux users. They are always honest, straightforward, fair, and never act in a hypocritical fashion. That includes all of the companies that make contributions to the kernel itself. Squeaky clean and wholesome, the lot of them.
And a lot of them aren't very stable or fast, no matter what OS is used to host the ATM software application being used on the machine. The problem? Often it's the client software. Who gets the blame? The Microsoft OS. From who? Microsoft haters and immature Linux zealots.
I call bullshit. We didn't even get to see the demonstration itself. It's entirely possible that the no OS could prevent the style of intrusion that was going to be demonstrated. But, you get get extra Microsoft bashing points just for pointing out the host OS used, whether or not it was part of the problem.
Yeah, no shit? Gee, so was mine. But the parent was suggesting that a majority of people, which excludes the likes of you and me, had their first computer experience using a PC. Just another self-centered prick, always wanting to stick his dick in the equation.
Read it again, jealous dumb-fuck. No where did he say "Unix Sucks" or make any other negative comment about the system, except to say that it benefits from not being the most widely used system.
Copy your Steam folder to another hard drive. Install Windows 7. Copy the Steam folder back over to your main drive. Run steam. Log in. You're done.
You read that correctly. You can use Steam without re-running the installer.

Welcome to Slashdot, home of the angry Linux faggots.

Browsing the net on the Wii is slow as hell. No thanks, Tom.

It was shitty from day one. Good job getting fired from NASA, Randall.
How to render the Segway Human Transporter obsolete

Based on the fact you typed "Windowz" instead of "Windows", you pulled a lot more than just a percentage out of your ass.

Liar! Liar! Pants on fire!
Did you just come in from the playground to post that?

Is Microsoft paying you guys, because clearly there's an active disinformation campaign on /.
Typical Linux zealot and his McCarthy Style bullshit. I long for something new.
Twitter is going to shit bricks.
There is indeed a difference, but the Nyquist-Shannon sampling theorem suggests this difference is as irrelevant as your comment.
From the blog/fourm:
MAME4ALL Dingoo is a port of MAME 0.37b5
Great! A version of MAME released in 9 years ago this month.

I didn't. My first computer was a 8-bit machine.

I've never experienced any game which has such a hostile community as DOTA.
Well, the Linux community has finally met their match!
Slashdot has always been a day late and a dollar short.
