Australia has an online thing called etax, it lets you pre-fill almost all your data, all your employers are prefilled, health fund stuff is prefilled and even interest from your bank accounts (assuming you provided your bank with your tax file number).
For people with simple tax needs (a normal job or two, maybe a few deductions for stuff you bought for work etc), it takes maybe 15minutes to do your tax. For people with more complicated tax needs it does take a bit longer, but it's still pretty quick.
I have one of these, they're kinda zippy and nice.
The only problem I had with mine was that it doesn't have any cooling whatsoever. So when it heats up it downclocks (See: http://freaktab.com/forum/tv-p...)
Besides that it's quite a nice little unit:D
Oh man, plus one to this...
Their support site is so slow that when you're logging warranty jobs you hit the button to load the page and then alt tab and do something else for a bit...
+1 to this.
The little solar garden lights you can get suck, I'd rather run a little 12volt system and bury the wires along the path, this way you've got guaranteed lights and no battery upkeep costs.
Here you go: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rainbow_table
In short: It's a precomputed set of hashes, you can spend as long as you like generating the hashes beforehand and putting them into the rainbow table, then when it comes time to crack the password you just match the hash up with the one you've hacked. Of course, if they're salted or using a different method to generate the hash than your rainbow table, you're screwed:P
I like the idea of a simple serial number that phones home, but doesn't require to phone home to work. This way you can track installs for each serial, but requires human intervention to do anything about it. (EG. Someone installs your software on their 5 machines at home, no worries.. Someone shares their serial all over the net and you end up with 100+ installs on the one number, then you start to worry about it and work a way to deactivate the program).
Someone steals your car every night and drives it around, you're not aware of the problem, however someone sees people driving your car and throwing shit at people and lets the police know. The police then pass on the information to you saying "Why is your car out there throwing shit at people at night?"
It is up to you to make sure that your car is properly locked and secured at night, so people can't steal it and take it for joyrides.
I've got an i7-920, it's not exactly the fastest cpu on the planet, but it's still pretty tough. I get down to 15FPS in big battles, even Crysis 2 on max everything still sits at >50fps. I've tried turning all the settings down, unparking cores, overclocking.
All the while, my CPU usage is below 25%. The game is poorly optimised. When they fix the optimisation issues I'm going to play it more.
FPS issues aside, it's a glorious game, and there's nothing more fun than rolling along with 2-3 platoons (>80 people) and having a huge line of tanks to take out the enemy. The guns aren't *that* hard to get certs to buy (if you don't want to pay any money), though each gun being like $7-10 each is kind of expensive, I would think that $2-3 each would be more reasonable.
That is the problem I have with micro transactions in games, there is NOTHING micro about it. You can play for free... you just will die a lot unable to kill others because your gun does half the damage. If your lucky.
It's really not that bad, without paying for anything I consistently have a KD Ratio over 1:1. I don't find myself getting rocked by pro players either, the starter guns are just fine.
Can you imagine what that would be like for IT people?
"WHY CAN'T I USE FACEBOOK? IT'S NOT WORKING!!.... Oh that thing I just clicked remind me later..."
You probably shouldn't have been in Act 3 inferno if you were dying so much that you can't afford repairs. I usually finish an Act 3 inferno run with 1-3 deaths (if I get a bad elite pack combo).
Though, you need either a tool (Scissors or cutters) or some insane muscles to get a Zip Tie off. Also Zip Ties when done up too tight/pulled on can mark the cable from the pressure...
I think the attack is more "SHE KILLS THINGS IN A FANTASY WORLD, WOULD YOU VOTE FOR A MURDERER?" which is why it's such a stupid attack. I don't think their attack would have as much substance if she was a Night Elf Healing Priest....
Reset the router, just make sure the firewall is turned on, maybe also update the firmware and then change the password on the router to something nice and long.. Don't plug it into the internet yet.
Format every machine on the network, update them to the latest patches.
Done.
How about instead of asking a whole bunch of adults who know little about the reading habits of 8 year olds, you go ask the school librarian.
I work in a school library and we have all our books with coloured dots on them to help the kids know what book is suitable for them (eg. Yellow dots is suitable for 10 year olds, though younger kids can read them if they can prove it's not too hard).
To check if a book is too hard for a child, we get them to read a page, if they make more than 5 mistakes, then it's too hard and they should go get an easier book.
Oh, we always do it with the permission of the publishers. We always buy X number of licences and they allow us to install it on X number of machines in the school, there's no trickery here:P
As an IT guy for a school, CD Drives are completely unnecessary in student laptops/netbooks.
While most software publishers send the software to us on CD, I rip it off the CD and package it into an app that'll run fine on the computer (usually there's no copy protection to worry about) then it's just as simple as rolling it out over the network.
Nope, the Fibre is capable of speeds greater than 10gbit, just the tech on either end isn't at that spec for the runs to the houses (as it's currently unnecessary).

Is that a better analogy?

Or perhaps a really large screen and go an Oculus VR ;)
Bonus points: Oculus VR already supports Unity

Hit the nail on the head, it's about doing something because you believe it's right.
News Flash: LCD screens cause eye cancer.

And then the next week, your toast would have changed from white bread to wholegrain and you're just going to have to get used to it.

You can already download all your data from facebook... Under Account Settings then Download Data, it gives you everything there.. easy.

Taking away the guns was for the best...
