Since getting on the Internet back in like, 1996, I started watching less and less TV. When I eventually moved out to live on my own, I didn't bother getting cable hooked up at my place. I get all the content I need from the Internet, and without commercials and Jerry Springer.
So yeah, I use the Internet as my main source of information.
For a moment, flashbacks from the movie Twins ran though my mind! Stuff along the lines of: "Kernel 2.4, you were created from the code of many great men, and you have all of their abilities. You can parse 12 languages, run for years without crashing, and even interface with eccentric hardware. You truely are superior to the other kernels."
As someone who is interested in becoming a Notary, I would really advise against this. A notary is someone who is recnogized by their state to authenticate signatures on documents. If forged notarizations start floating around, it makes the rest of the notaries look bad, and weakens the system as a result.
Compare this with being a sysadmin. It's one of the cardinal rules of being a sysadmin that you NEVER read users' e-mail without their explicit permission. If there ever ends up being a high profile case of a sysadmin who did that (without being ordered to be law enforcement), it would only serve to make the rest of us look bad, don't you agreee?

Now when people go Christmas shopping, they'll have to buy Christmas presents for their grandparents, great-grandparents, great-great-grandparents, great-great-great-grandparents, great-great-great-great-grandparents, great-great-great-great-great-grandparents, and the list goes on and on. People will go brankrupt and the economy will collapse, the horror!
>On its Web site, Hormel states that it does not object to use of >the word spam as a "slang term," as long as pictures of the product >are not used with such references.
This is true. There used to be an entry in the FAQ on Hormel's website saying that they were cool with people using the term "spam" to refer to Unsolicted Commercial E-mail (UCE). They only asked that folks did not use "SPAM" in all uppercase.
From reading the article, I gather that Hormel is concerned that another commercial entity with the word "spam" in its trademark could cause confusion with the luncheon meat. (at least among computer-illiterate people)
Whether those concerns are enough to stop Spam Arrest from using the word 'spam' is something that will probably be determined after a legal battle.
Do NOT mention 'hacking', 'cracking', or anything like that, EVEN if you are joking!
Remember, older people on a whole know less about technology than younger people do. They may think you're serious and refuse to allow the club to be created. Worse yet, some control-freak of a teacher may try to use it as an excuse to shut the club down after it gets started.
On that note, that's another thing to watch out for: teachers who may have agenda of their own, or just be control-freaks, who don't want to see the students actually PLAYING with technology. And for God's sake, if you're going to do anything that you think your school might not be happy about, make sure you don't get caught. (Not that I did anything like that when I was in high school...:-)
Okay, maybe I missed something here, and I'm certainly no physics major, but from what I understand, hydrogen is created through the process of electrolysis, where it an oxygen are seperated from water. Also, from what I understand, this is a fairly energy-intensive process.
So, the question is, where are we going to get the energy to create the hydrogen? From... oil burning electricity generating plants? That would kind of defeat the purpose of switching to hydrogen for our cars, wouldn't it? In fact, it would require more electricity to generate the hyrdogen, which would in require more oil! And if folks say, "build more nuclear plants for electricity generation", I'm sure that's going to go over really well with the environmentalists in California. They'll just love that idea.:-)
Don't get me wrong, I'm all for hydrogen powered cars, but it seems like we're playing a shell game here, moving the oil from the cars to the electricity generation.
(If my assumptions about generation of hydrogen are wrong, someone please correct me!)
I was about to scream "this is a dupe!!", and then I looked carefully at the dates of the conference in each story.
I wonder if I'm not the only one who was confused by that. If these conferences are being run by different organizations, then perhaps one or both of them should consider modifying their name, so as to prevent future problems caused by "namespace collisions".:-)
Have you ever had to deal with any developers who um, had issues? For example, someone who refused to comment their code, or someone who would volunteer to implement a feature and then "not get around to it" which forced the project as a whole to suffer?
If so, how did you deal with those people? Did you ever find yourself forced to burn any bridges as a result of dealing with such people?
in fact, i have incorrect data because i and my wife were being stalked - and the WHOIS database is where he thought i lived. He went looking for us at the old address.
One problem with this is that when have you bogus contact information, it makes it look like you may have something to hide, seeing as how spammers employ similar tactics with their domain registration.
My suggestion would be to get a Mailboxes, Etc. dropbox and list that in your domain contact. That way, people who need to legitimately reach you via postal mail can, while stalkers will not find you.

I saw the phrase "wealth creation" and nearly parsed it as weath building, which is used in way too many "Make Money Fast" schemes and spams.
:-(
Interesting idea, BAD choice of words.

Thanks for playing.

There is also a digest mode of SPAM-L available.
:-)
BTW, I'm the guy who maintains the SPAM-L FAQ, hi.

Back in the day we used to talk about Sanford Wallace, his wife, and if they would ever have kids.
We concluded that he would most like "use someone else's open port" to make this happen.
I would like to see a remote control that can turn down the volume of, pause, and ESPECIALLY rewind my boss. :-)
Why bother with a plant for this? I can already turn chili into ah, "natural gas". :-)
Yes, but will it be coming to IMAX screens? :-)
Why is it NOT okay when Saddam defies the UN, but it's okay when President Bush does it? Could someone explain that to me, please?

Did anyone else read that and think of the Verizon Wireless commercials?

Well, so much for me having kids!
Oh, wait... that means I'd actually have to get NEAR a real-life female first...
Dude, it was a joke. Relax.
Vi or Emacs?
Did the prosecution offer you a "deal" if you would talk and testify against other members of your group?
If so, did you talk in exchange for a lighter sentence? Or did you stay silent and let only yourself take the rap?
