Here's where I'm having a problem with "AIG protecting the International Financial system taking a nosedive".
First of all, it looks like it's happening anyway so saving AIG isn't worth it.
Second, AIG was to protect the mortgage originators from the borrowers defaulting. Well, that's happened. And instead of the mortgage originators taking the loss, AIG is. In other words, the systemic losses are being concentrated at AIG. What I'm saying is that letting AIG go bankrupt wouldn't harm the system. The losses would just be spread over the system and individual banks and partners would be taking the hit. It's a zero sum game right now. AIG is irrelevant; except for the bonus that tis executives say they deserve. I say let'em die. It will have no net effect on the economy. The damage is done.
Apple has the bestest products int the World and they're out to help everyone to live free, happy, creatively, and lovingly! Apple is our savior! They will save us from ugliness, poor GUIs, and they will enlighten us to be more loving, warm, kind, generous, souls, who will turn the Earth into a paradise.
Mod this post down and you're against Apple! You're against Peace! You're against living and humanity and you want the Earth to die in a fiery, CO2, ice cap melting, Hell!
Jeeze, if every consumer that was dissatisfied with their purchase were to sue, we'd all be in court for a lifetime. Get over it.
Or, how about businesses represent their products truthfully? For example, unlimited actually meaning unlimited - no bullshit mice type with "conditions". The same goes for Apple. And maybe, just maybe, if there were more lawsuits, business would stop BSing people and tell the truth about their product. I have to wonder, how many people paid all that money for Apple's phone because they expected the performance advertised. I think Apple hyped the product to justify their outlandish price.

That may be so, but with all those windows and the redundant access to functions, it just adds unneeded complexity and confusion.And if you have an email client open, browser and a file browser open, you have a very busy desktop and taskbar.
Many times when I'm working with it, I put my browser in focus and then my email client and maybe something else. When I go back to GIMP by clicking on one of the taskbar items or one of th window frames, only that particular GIMP window comes up, upon which, I have to go hunting for the window that I actually need at that time. I wish ALL the GIMP windows would come into focus.
No, I don't like the UI at all: it's too confusing, cumbersome, redundant, and complex.
Like it or not, the Windows and Mac UIs are the standards that just about everyone expects with regards to GUIs.
What would happen to Solaris, GlassFish, NetBeans, etc?
The NetBeans/GlassFish combo is a killer combination for developing Java EE/J2EE applications. I would hate to see those two products disappear, since they compete directly with Eclipse and Websphere from IBM.

I always stop and I actually slow down for the yellow lights so I can stop at the red. I can't count how many times some asshole behind me has a hissy fit because I didn't blow through the yellow. I've actually had idiots, go around me after I stopped for a red light, and they themselves run the light.
My point? As long as the camera is accurate and not ticketing folks who just stop beyond the white line (as been reported in some cities), I'm all for them - even if the city is making money.

That's assuming you actually can use it. Many times, when you actually try to make a claim, the insurance company that backs the warranty, will not back it up - they'll find something in the fine print of the contract that they'll use as an excuse to tell you to take a hike; which then it becomes a battle. Many times, they don't even have a legitimate reason not to honor the warranty, but they do anyway because they're crooks.
