I may only want a cell phone that can make phone calls - not a mini PDA / game machine. With the current rush, some manufacturers and developers are forgetting to leave the basic product available
Oh no they haven't forgotten. But if they give you one device that works perfectly well for the one need you have, they can't sell you another one a year from now.
He couldn't earn money. He was on a student visa which only allows him to go to school here, not to work. Thats why there was a "visa fraud" charge against him because he accepted money to work on websites.
Lets say you were looking for smugglers, drug or otherwise. (Sweden does have a lot of waterfront). Which is gonna be better at finding them, sting operations, etc....a huge, loud, diesel tuna boat or this thing?

A beige G3 is a supported system for OSX. But if you replaced your CDRom with a 3rd party one because the original died...good luck getting OSX installed.
Yep, the Gateway PIII-200 I bought in 1997 had USB onboard, standard. But I had to wait untill Windows 98 (which still came out before the iMac) to use it.
This is Palladium, and it has not been "dropped", only shelved because it was too ambitious. They say they've invested too much on this not take advantage of it.
To the stupid mods who dragged the parent down. Get a sense of humor. It's for measuring frame dragging or lag, and a joke about it being delayed is -1 Troll??
I work for a smaller graphics house that is part of an architecture firm and does mostly (but not all) architecture work.
This product is competing against other rendering engines like MentalRay, Vray, Renderman, etc. And at $2750 per license it's deffinately not for smaller developers or architects. There are plenty of other rendering engines out there that are significantly cheaper and dont require a video card that costs as much as an entire x86 rendernode.
Some NPR already does it.

My point is that a Dual G5 is in no way simply just a "personal computer" meant for home email/word/quicken use. That's why Apple makes the iMac. And if you are going to claim that somehow a workstation and a desktop are different things, then you're buying into marketing bullshit.
At the time of Apple's G5 announcement (3 months before they even started shipping) Boxx had already been shipping dual Opteron machines for about a month.
I think they mean that MS is the percieved champion that no-one can beat, and Linux is the suprising underdog that can embarass MS because they overestimated their abilities.
It seems to work with any domain name. It looks like ICANN or Verisign is up to their redirect/hijacking tricks again...
For everyone that replied about using Moz/Firefox/et all... Yes. I know. I use them too. That wasn't my point.
My statement applies to ANY program, not just IE.
so you'd rather have 30 buttons all with the IE logo and the text truncated so you can't tell which is which?
please....
We can only hope...

Everything you have mentioned is dependent on what render engine you are using.
First, figure that out, then go to the forums for that engine and ask your question there.
I just built an 8-node renderfarm for using Vray, which means 3D Studio, which means Win2k and it was a piece of cake.
6-8 nodes is tiny. Figure your use, then ask on the right forum. Many, many people have done this already.

You mean like Mac Zealots think that Steve Jobs created the mp3 player market with the iPod?
To the end user, the GUI is the same as the operating system.
Because requiring 10% of all cars sold in CA by 2001 to be zero-emission (read electric) worked well didn't it?

It will let you do a clean install inlcuding reformatting the drive, but only if it can see an OSX install already there
Apple is charging the $130 for each "upgrade" of their operating systems (they are not upgrades but full versions only)
Try taking the Panther updgrade disc and putting it into a machine that doesn't already have OSX on it. It won't allow you to install.

In other words, "we're about to get slashdotted".
Anyone have the link to the google cache?
You want to explain to me what the difference is between a Dual-proc G5 and a "workstation"? Because there isn't any.
