I was in the record store the other day and saw Madonna's new album. I remembered that she had done her silly little 'what the f**k do you think you're doing' thing.
On a whim I put some other CDs on top to hide her regurgitaged euro dance crap.
Now every store I go into I do that... Just my little way of protest...
According to their press release they use "LSB steganographic techniques". In the stego world this is roughly equivalent to using ROT13. If you try and hide any sizeable amount it's a joke to detect. There are many better methods- F5, SSIS, etc...
Wow. You nimrods (CmdrTaco included) are the same people who said:
"A horseless buggy? Bah!"
"$3000 for a computer? There's no more than 10 companies that can afford that!"
"IT? That's just a scooter!"
Nevermind all the childern with cp or all the elderly or crowded cities in asia. I'm sure noone there will want one. I'm also sure that the price will stay at $3000 as well. We all saw how the absurd price of computers has stayed so high.
Seriously though, all the people who can't see exactly what IT will do for society (and I'm not talking about just the one you live in; there's a lot more people out there) are too short sighted to see beyond their monitors.
IT is amazing. IT has more creativity, imagination, innovation, and potential then any chunk of code.
All you cubical code monkeys just don't have enough of a clue to realize that.
People are harping on not jumping to conclusions but let's look at the facts:
There've been 12 Airbus crashes since 1988 (1 of those was during a engine failure simulation). None of them were landing or flying from the US (bbc article here).
New York is obviously a major target for air terror. If you consider the probabilities, the most likely is an act of terror.
Just my 2c.
I recently powered up my win2k advanced server (with a DeskStar 75GXP) to find the drive making a horrid clicking noise. I really thought it was a head crash.
So I called IBM. They had my problem pegged in a matter of seconds. Apparently with some versions of windows (MS KB article) the OS doesn't give the drive enough time to flush it's cache before shutdown. Thus it's powered down before it can write. This slowly corrupts data until everything goes boom.
The IBM tech dude said there was a patch (which you have to ask MS for). Or you can wait for the next win2k service pack.
I switched to WinXP and the drive seems fine... for now...
Ummm... It is just you... And only because you're ignorant...
First off steganography isn't , say it with me folks, ISN'T encryption. It's a way to hide information. No sane person would embed a message without encrypting it first.
The power of steganography is rooted in the difficulty to detect said messages. There are times when it's ok if people know you're talking to me (as long as they can't understand), but there are also times when you don't want anyone to know you're talking to me. That's what steganography is for.
Two hours of eye candy that actually worked with the story. Good stuff... Go see it in a good movie theatre. Sit up front. Lean back. Try not to blink.
When I was there last, it was hard to find a place without wireless or ethernet available.
Hell, there's even ethernet ports in the campus pub.
"Let me turn you in, and I'll give you .50%!"
I like the subtle decimal point in there...
"Who the HELL wants to hear actors talk?" H.M. Warner, Warner Brothers, 1927
Mr. Warner must have forseen Gigli...

Getting a copy of the covermessage as well as the stegomessage generally means the scheme is smoked in any stego system.
It's an extreme case of side information and there really isn't a whole lot you can do about it.
First the whole 75GXP harddrive fiasco (my second one just failed, thanks IBM!)...
Now the batteries...
IBM hardware has jumped the shark!!!

Did you read the article?
Did you see the builder mentioned adding Altec Lansing speakers?
Can you even read?
Try it before posting...
...then saying something is unbreakable, is believing that it really is.

Or at least you can tell them you don't want them to index certain directories...
