It's true that the information available on Google maps isn't going to allow a burglar to completely case out a home and plan his crime, but you have to admit that it should simplify their scouting by a great deal. With the overhead and street view I imagine it's not terribly difficult to create a shortlist of possible targets which they trim down more as they scope them out in person.
Note: I think making a distinction between criminals using high and low tech methods as far as sentencing goes is ridiculous.
Playing the Wii is fun for fifteen or twenty minutes here and there as you fiddle with Warioware or another of the great first party games, but beyond those distractions there is very very little meat for those of us looking for a FPS, RPG, or really anything beyond bowling. I can only assume you're just another dude on the outside looking in.
Actually right now PS3s retail for about $300 with a 120gig hdd, Xbox 360s for $200 in bundle with no hdd, and a 256meg memory card. The Wii is about $200 and for reference includes 512 megs of internal flash memory.
If only Bell was willing to cut those of us in the Northwest Territories this kind of deal. At the moment I pay $65~ monthly for 60gigs of bandwidth with each additional gig costing $10, and no maximum charge to my knowledge. (I've seen a $450 overage fee). Also, until sometime mid 2009, that limit was actually 20gig.
As someone who lives in northern Canada I can only say this about Bell: They can suck the fattest part of my ass, then choke and die in a fire. Prices continue to rise, while services stay the same or get worse. I might see a 3g network before I die, but given the five years or however long it took them to get the promised 1X network in after selling us the phones I'm not holding my breath.
"Every four years, we have passionate but free and orderly elections that result in the peaceful transfer of power, often between two groups of people."
Removed a few words to fix that for you.
I can't imagine this would be a problem. Honestly anything short of turning the car into a microwave once the ignition is turned is fine in my book in this case.
It's not sad that it took 14 years before a ruling was made on this? I'm all for not being bogged down with unnecessary laws, but who really thinks this is the first time GPS has been used like this?
The comment about consoles becoming more attractive than phones for instant messaging is hilarious and should give readers an idea of how much thought this contains. If only I had published the opinion piece I wrote for Social Studies as a teen about how MySpace was going to ruin the internet. It was full of uninformed opinions, and even a stab at George Bush!
Only problem is, if you ever need something major like a new kidney or whatever you'd better hope you've got that 25% of your income you weren't taxed for the last 10 years sitting in hand, or you might be in some trouble.
Eh, achievements and gamerscore is a nice little touch to see which of your friends needs to go outside the worst, but to me it seems mostly to be fluff. On the other hand, the built in players network is great and the marketplace+arcade to use Microsoft as the example have made high quality low budget games much more common.
Except that many people will continue playing an mmo until they've seen and done most of what they're interested in. Assuming it took you only 100 hours of questing and so forth to hit the maximum level, any timesinks they can add onto this total increases their profit per subscription over time. If you spend only ten minutes out of every hour traveling they've still squeezed another sixteen or so hours out of you.
Add to this the necessity to travel to capital cities every few levels for training and so on... Even if they manage to get half of their total subscribers to purchase one more month of playtime they'll have made themselves quite a nice "bonus".
Problem is that the only thing more boring than PVE on EVE is 5 minute autopilot runs between station and waypoint. You almost start praying to be tackled at a gate for some excitement.
But does someone else "cheating" through a level have any affect on your own enjoyment of a game? It really shouldn't.
I could understand if this was an article about WoW adding an option to autocomplete quests/dungeons if you were having trouble, but for those of us who aren't still in middleschool and measuring our gaming prowess against our peers at all oppurtunities this just means that a particularily annoying level doesn't block you from seeing the rest of the game.
A few years ago I was in a relationship with someone who became addicted to WoW. In the course of the 8 months roughly that she lived with me her main character alone had well over 150 days played time. She was kicked out University because she was skipping classes to play WoW and was unable to hold down a job as she frequently called in sick in order to Raid/Farm. She became increasingly withdrawn from all aspects of real life including personal hygiene and maintained zero relationships in real life, managing to scare off even this hardcore nerd.
This brings back the shame of my own trade-ins. Microage managed to get pristine copies of Secret of Mana and Final Fantasy 3 out of my 11 year old self in return for a MTG:Ice Age deck:(

Mind you, if she had been dealing with Nissan, Kellogs or anyone outside the software industry she'd have been shit out of luck it seems.

Alternately it could be sarcasm.

I would go nuts having to commute so far, I work in a Assisted Living Home, which is somewhere around a 10 minute walk from my house.

Mostly because nuking from orbit is an option, as well as the only way to be sure.

Or hire a sniper for other reasons.
If you had posted under your screenname this would have turned you into a folk hero.
Actually I'm Canadian, I'm just not an idiot.

You might have noticed however that the article is specificly talking about Americans.
Warhammer Online loves to ban them some gold spammers. Just shy of 19,000 have been hit with the banhammer so far, according to the counter.
