Ya! All or nothing! Never look back! THAT will teach them.
Personally, I've had very few problems on my 10.04 laptop, desktop, OR server. Some, but not many. Also, your citation about your "6GB machine" implies a memory leak without citing your top / free output. Troll, coward.
You cited no examples nor provided any real discussion. You accuse HTML5 of sucking ass and it's so evil and only evil people made it, etc.
Looking at the new features of HTML5, it all looks pretty good, and the only bitching and argument seem to be from the tag which, as people have said, should be container-neutral like the tag is. The fight for codec shouldn't be in the standard, it should be in the browsers.
This is a conspiracy to defile the legitimacy of finding and harvesting domestic petroleum by the Obama administration. After all, the only people hurt by the intentional sabotage of the rig is a British company and New Orleans, which we all know the government doesn't give a damn about.
Ya, that free market can be a bitch. Let's manipulate our content providers so they can't be competitive with any other ebook distributor, if they want to distribute through us.
So... Brazil doesn't believe in freedom of expression on the Internet, nor do they subscribe to the "post anything, trust nothing" philosophy of the Internet. What a shame.
You seem to think that Ubuntu increasing their drive to a Red Hat-based business model means Ubuntu will come out with the same result as RHEL. I don't think that will be the case. Their development model seems to be different, with much more community involvement.
And as an aside, is a 128 bit address really necessary? Couldn't we have gotten along with a 64 bit address? 1.8e19 addresses seem like enough for a long time, too.
I haven't had extensive experience in the office workplace (two summers as an intern) and to me, the half-cubicle was nice. These are the ones whose walls are about eye level height (for a six foot man) and so you have a bit of privacy and enclosure, while being able to stand up and clearly communicate with those around you. -- Behind every great sysadmin is a bookshelf. IIRC 2.6.32 is considered an "LTS" kernel. Occasionally, kernels are "suggested" to be used for longer support cycle releases for distros. Ubuntu 10.04 is using.32 as well.
So you don't support the Republicans based on the single issue of "lack of oversight". You don't support libertarians based on the single issue of economic and social freedom.
Then you insult the parent's principles by implying he is a sheep being played with by politicians.
I'm sorry his (and my) political views are beneath you.
This may have been said already, but I'll say it anyway. The kernel isn't new, as many have pointed out. It does a good enough job at what it does for most people not to care.
What people need are useful applications to increase business and life efficiencies. Information systems, bioinformatics, solving life's issues. The kernel is fun for some people, but many don't see the excitement in the project.

Links, please. Bonus points for $1000.
I nostalgia'd.

I agree with your general statement, but you don't know if Lala was sustainable or not. If you DO, please correct me with relevant links.
I just think Apple saw a superior service (from a customer's view), bought it, and killed it. It may or may not have been making profit.
EE/CS is a popular degree plan at Texas Tech University. Computer Engineering is a condensed version of EE/CS here, so EE/CE would be repetitive.
Seems to be working pretty well for some.
All I'm sayin' is that ISPs should be a dumb pipe. ANY traffic going FROM anywhere TO anywhere should be routed, and that's it, PERIOD.
Route my traffic. Absolutely minimal QoS, no scanning, filtering, inspecting, or responsibility for what is passing through your network.
Damn those wealthy people not wanting windfarms around their yachts!
Wind is a huge, unreliable form of renewable energy. It ruins the natural landscape, too. Build nuclear. Build solar.

Yay America.

Identi.ca uses it, and I think the purpose is for people across different social networking sites to be able to follow each other.
Found it:

This would ostensibly lead to a decentralization of social networking sites while still allowing people to discover other users.
You've never watched Star Trek, have you?
Besides, the aliens can't break the Prime Directive. Only when we can travel like they can, will they contact us!
Shut down NASA ASAP!
I'm convinced that IPv6 has been such a pain to move to because they didn't think about a transition plan from IPv4 at all.

Sorry, I really shouldn't have replied to parent's thread, I was making my own statement. The announcement of his retirement is mostly symbolic.
Mostly symbolic, but the end of an era.
Make it so.
Really.

Maybe it's time to set up a nation on Antarctica. Viva la settling!

Because volunteers are consistently reliable maintainers.
Because companies don't often contribute to the kernel.
I get your concern, but don't think it's called for. Besides, doesn't code have to meet guidelines to get into mainline?
