Does this have any sort of implications for our current/future space efforts? I guess there might also be some implications for submarines? though I assume most submarines would just surface and pop their top. Then again maybe it would matter for stealth subs or perhaps extreme depth missions?
I can't for the life of me find any point for using this in atmospheric conditions, I mean we have trees and plenty of other stuff dealing with carbon dioxide and such.
the only MMO in the future that will do anything new is likely to be the World of Darkness MMO CCP is working on. As far as game studios goes they seem to be the only ones willing to take risks and try to innovate, even if what they do doesn't always work.
As far as server stability goes this is a really bad time for a game release. More people will be off work and home and able to play at 'off peak' hours on launch day and they will quickly find their infrastructure overwhelmed. I bet a lot of people who buy this game on launch won't be able to play it the day they get it from all the down times and such.
If google or any one else did this they would get sued by everyone. Hell the big carriers sue anyone who tries to setup their own stuff in small rural areas. Granted how effective it wouldn't nearly as effective against someone as large as google as opposed small moneyless farmers or organizations.
So who do I write to try and get my state to help block this as well? I assume my congressman but I don't think he actually gets my letters because if he does they must show up under spam. Perhaps I should lie to Rick Perry and say I'll vote for him if he supports this. I mean if politicians lie to me I can lie to them right?
I thought getting information about such things from an insider and then acting upon it was considered insider trading? Has something changed in the last decade and we now operate under the assumption that such knowledge is okay and even required?
Indeed Watson has already replaced game show contestants, and I hear IBM is working on a new version to replace reality tv show stars. I for one am looking forward to Robotic Survivor.
The idea behind counterfeit equipment is to pass it off as the real thing nine times out of ten. Sure it's possible they are marketing it to someone who knows it's fake but at some point that stuff is getting sold as the real thing.
Hold on I've not been able to go talk to Cleverbot for more than two exchanges before it goes off topic with some completely rando...ah damn no wonder people thought it was a human.
I find it amusing that other corporations would be bitching. Just about every corporation out there uses some form of voodoo accounting to show a loss regardless of their actual profits. This article doesn't show what's wrong with the video game industry in terms of tax breaks and federal funding it shows what's wrong with our country and tax system as a whole.
Show losses get yourself lower taxes and some pork and who cares what sort of sleazy accounting methods you use.
Sounds like a lot of work for the student, first finding something to copy, then submitting it then changing stuff submitting again, and repeat until 'not plagiarized' pops up and then turn the thing in and hope you managed to keep the paper viable as far as grade and content goes.
I'd rather just write the damn thing and know that I'm not plagiarizing anyone.
This is just what they want you to believe the truth is it's going to go cover up the evidence from Apollo 18. Now that the truth is out they don't want amateur astronomers finding the proof they left on the surface of the moon itself! Wake up Sheeple!
If you're like me you don't generally like the government I got loads of complaints with the state of the government in the USA but do I really do much about it? No I'm too busy with my job, friends and other stuff. Plus lets face it things aren't that bad here despite all the dire stuff they put on the news. But if the government suddenly turned off my porn and tv shows plus slashdot and various other sites I habitually use I'd be up in arms pounding on my congressman's door maybe even joining a riot if the mood was right.
First to invent vs first to file has no real bearing on the state of patents int he USA. This won't stop patent wars and in some ways will make them worse. Did you patent every conceivable aspect of your invention? Will some slimy scum bag come in behind you and patent some trivial aspect of your product and then sue you?
So what if they search all the computers in the house hold it doesn't prove who was sitting at the computer when the actual sharing was done. Most house holds have at least one computer that everyone uses at some point.
I didn't really think of that. I always considered anonymous more like violent angry protesters and vandals than criminals. How ever in the eyes of the law they would be considered mobsters which really lends them way to much credibility in my opinion.
It's better than being treated like a terrorist which is how a lot of people would like to see hackers tried as. Though I don't think laws regarding organized crime should be used unless there is an actual organization involved or clearly working for an organization.
I'm pretty skeptical, it says he's been doing this since he was four and has some funny stories of such but do we have any actual proof that this is true? Are we sure he's not an artist with a gimmick to get his stuff sold? He wouldn't be the first.
pretty much this, I'm only hearing about it on the internet, local and even world news doesn't seem to be touching this stuff.

So basically your shit got stolen by corporate thugs who held your education for ransom?

and you think that's an excuse?! Kids today. Stop lollygagging and get off my lawn!
I wonder how many people noticed that before commenting.

Ya I trust all the news I get from North Korean sources too.
ah well I wasn't sure from the wording and I've seen people believe stranger things were fact as opposed to fiction.
umm I Am Legend was a fictional work by Richard Matheson, in case you weren't aware.
