    Your printer card must not support IRQs, why not format and reinstall, see if that fixes it.

    At that point, I wrote a small printer diagnostic that would detect the port using IRQ's.


    BTW. OS/2 2.0 didn't have CD roms to install from, only diskette.

    Secondly, most of the spam I receive are not even from the US. Most of the stuff is from Asia or worse, eastern Europe. Do these regulations apply to them, too?

    It does not apply to them...until.....


    they send the spam to servers and recipients in the USA. Jurisdiction is not only based on where they are located, but also where they conduct business and where the harm is directed.


    The FTC has filed a lawsuit against the scumbag spammer known as Global Web promotions. I filed a lawsuit against them last year. Their scumbag lawyer has made many misrepresentations to the court. I will be posting it on my site shortly.

    They have not been doing their job. Verisign/Netsol have been refusing to take action about bogus domain registration information for years.

    ICANN made an announcement about this in 2002, and the information on the mentioned domains were still invalid in late 2003. Most of the information was updated this year, maybe to prepare for this lawsuit (to have clean hands).


    Verisign/Netsol should have had their accreditation status yanked last year!

    Have there been benchmarks done between Federora and RH 8/9? Is so, where are they? How is reliability as compared to RH 8/9?


    The key question is why switch if it is working? And if there is something worthwile, how long should one wait (when things are considered stable) until they switch?

    I calculate my milage by:
    1. Filling the gastake with gas
    2. Driving more than 300 miles
    3. Filling the take with gas, again
    4. Dividing the number of miles driven by the number of gallons it takes to refill the take.
    I do try to fill the take to the same level each time.

    I get 33mpg highway on my 2000 Celica GT. That is about the same, but there is not a waiting list. I like the idea of regenerative breaking, now if they add organic solar panels or a small cold fusion reactor, they may get the advertised milage.

    Some of the images were found in unallocated file space, and would have to have been placed there deliberately since cached images from browsing sessions wouldn't have been stored in unallocated space.

    Doesn't the OS delete files when the cache gets filled? If so, the porn that was located in the cache files is now located in unallocated space.

    What you say makes sense, but is completely wrong.

    You have to consider the entire system design when looking at the bestplace to make the optimization. You need to look at what the bottleneck and attack that, but keep in mind the issue in upgrading the system.

    I looked at the site. It allows a location to be a fre or reduced cost hot spot. The service is free or a reduced cost to the location, but is the reduced cost passed one?

    I'm sorry, I should have been more specific. When I said GPS, I meant it in generic sens - not just satelite based. Many cell phones have h eability to report position. There are more ways to get a position than via a satelite based GPS.

    This is a technique that has been used for quite a while, or at least I have, to an extent. When trying to track a bug, don't you compare the output or data at points between the broken and not broken version? When tracking a new bug, don't you try to isolate what is the same, what has changed -- and I don't mean just source code?

    This is interesting, where this automates the process, similar to when Frank and Jim introduced Bounds Checker to check for corruption of the memory chain instead of checking the memory chain multiple times.

    Why waste the bandwith, diskspace, ram, if we can use a lossy format? What about bandwidth when I am on dialup or wireless? What about diskspace on my laptop to hold these images?

    No matter how much bandwidth you have, it is still limited.

    A local Los Angeles radio host was saying that part of the problem is that DieBold posted their code on the internet which allowed people to study the code to find the security holes. I suspect Diebold is saying the same thing.


    What they don't get is that, is that if the code was not posted publically, the public wouldn't know about the security holes, but it would have been known to the people at the Bush campaign who arranged for Bush to be elected this time.
