  1. detective story and trinity...the first matrix? on Latest Animatrix Short Released · · Score: 1

so how old is the "new" matrix? like the one that Neo woke up from?

in "detective story" we can see that the matrix is some quasi-futuristic environment, and trinity is a part of it. does that mean that she lived through the upload of the new, contemporary matrix?

  2. my experience with a PC as DVR on Home-Grown TiVo Stories? · · Score: 1

I've just installed an All-in-wonder 7500, and while it performs ok, it probably isn't as good of a solution as buying the real thing (tivo).

while i am allowed to schedule weekly recordings, the recording software sometimes crashes (if i try doing other things), which might not happen if you just have a dedicated box.

price-wise, i blew close to 200 bucks on hardware alone (card + HD) and am now getting mediocre performance.

i'm still satisfied that i can record tv shows, and convert my vhs to vcds (thank you apex:), but if you're looking for the best solution, i'd say go with tivo.

i've been trying to find a place in the states that sells "tango" but haven't been able so far. does anyone know where this gem can be bought?
and hermann's jeremiah was great IMO, i'm dissappointed to see that hermann doesn't have much controll over the show.

  10. commercials and DJs on Satellite Radio: Tune In or Turn Off? · · Score: 1

i've stopped listening to radio for 3 major reasons:
    -numbnut DJs
-annoying ads (hire a fsckn advertising major, for crying out loud) and
-the fact that each station loops through what seems like only 12 songs.

i like my mp3s, but sometime its nice to have some unexpected variety, and this form of radio might be the way to go...

  11. Re:None v. Atheist on Jedi Knight Now (Not) Officially a Religion · · Score: 1

an atheist is someone who believes that there is no god (as much as a believer believes that there is).
"none" could be an agnostic, who doesn't swing either way, because it really doesn't matter whethere there is one or not.

This is way different from christianity. Bible is/was not meant to be interpreted literally. Most of the stories are nothing more than moral lessons, that you get only after interpreting them. Aliens catching souls is quite a bit different...

is that MS will shove .net into all of its OSs so MS users will forver be stuck with a "sexy widget" trying to emulate command prompt.
