actually you hire a staff and hide in your office... I actually get to play games on average of an hour a week.. not to bad.. now if I was actually only working 40 hours a week that would be awesome
well I have several other titles includeing MIS Manager Progamer and Facilities Manager (if anyone figured out I work at a non profit, give yourself a pat on the back). But really my least favorite task is sysadmin and if my staff is missing, help desk. If I could get rid of that I could work on moreproductive things and less fixing things that are already broke!
YEAH!!!
oh yeah I forgot to mention. a cold day in hell when this happens.
Yes haha I see the joke but this responce is just to address a growing problem. I want everyone to be able to email their polititians. I want the rednecks and the yuppies and everyone to vote and be heard because frankly if everyone gave a damn things owuld not be as bad as they are and the more they payed attention the less likely they would to just be followers.

bah my Karma is Excelent so I can take a hit so I won't post this as a coward...
FUCK YOU AND THE HORSE YOU ROAD IN ON.. I know you are a troll and its flamebait but repeat previous caps... people work as teachers for the love of it, thats it. believe it or not its not all about the money. I'm not currently a teacher *BUT I WAS* I also was a PHB, a computer consultant, a CIO, a programmer and a mechanical engineer. I'd list degrees but lets just say I am qualified. I now work at a non profit because its for a good cause.. I would have been a teacher forever BUT ITS TO FUCKING HARD!!! even if they payed what the work deserved (it was harder then the CIO job and you have infenet more responsibility.. so lets say 150k) its still to fucking hard. I worked in the Ann Arbor school system for 2 years in elementry ed just to see how it was to be a teacher.. read last caps..../end rant
I work in a social services non profit organization. Our client services director made a big hoopla about getting a video phone inorder to do casemangement for people getting out of prison with certain diseases that fit our mission statement. After a bigger hoopla it was even installed and guess what it works. its not that bad (decent compression allows for a 240xsomething video stream to go through) along with voice but you know how many times its been used since it was installed.... 6 months ago? once, by me to make sure it works....
Into the closet it goes along with all the secure wifi *smirk* projects and other novelty things purchased before my time.
open source is the answer?!? sweet you want EVERYONE to have this? So lets say DARPA asks for a project to create a neutron bomb that fits in a beer (as in free) cup. Lets do it because we knoe we can do it right? Soem things are better off not done, Open source is not the answer, the real answer is just to say "No". Its like the D.A.R.E. program here in the U.S.A (drugs prevention program with kids). Just say no to allowing yourself to be turned into a celebrity. "Celebrity" you say? why yes. The only people who have such scrutiny are celebrity and polititians. And since I plan on having no fame (and realitively little money) why must I have to be put through the same scrutiny that they signed up for. The problem is that our polititains are used to no privicy and there for do not expect it. They don't see whats wrong with this stuff.

Its been said before, it will be said again! The fact that it is posted on NYTimes is mildly amusing (with their registration and all) but really when all is said in done the percentage of things you can find on the net that is not wanted up there by the individual it is about in which the individual or his/her family members did not post is absolutely minute.
Is Privacy a good thing? YES!!! is posting a family website up on the net and being suprised when someone else finds it Hypocritical? YES!!!!
I mean yes there is more to it then that but my 2000 word essay hours are between 9-5
We the lemmings of the Internet, in order to form a more gullible union, promote injustice, insure dissent, provide for common squabbles, promote anarchy, and secure the blessing of captivity and our own demise, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the Internet
Why is Everyone so negative? I mean who isn't going to try and get setiathome (and other distributed computing projects) to work on ps3, I mean thats the only realistic application of Broadband based Parrallel computing. My Duke Nukem Forever Platinum Titanium 3000 won't work with a 250ms lag time for borrowed cycles...
Is it more "secure"? It seems that win2k has very little command prompt ability and most people don't even know anything other then a few basics... So I guess my question I guess is Why?
IDNRTEULA (I did not read the end user license agreement) on any p2p software but just by allowing something to be downloaded or not restricting its access does that mean you are actively allowing shareing? Just curious
Wow did someone hit RIAA with a Clue Stick? this is one of the first smart things they have done. This of course is assuming the following
If they find someone who is sharing music that could only be there if it was pirated.
That means you should only be under suspicion if you are sharing music that is not yet released (Eminem was a recent one that I heard of being out there well in advance). That's it. Otherwise who knows maybe some insane freak does buy every song on the top 100 list. There is no probable cause, no reason to sue.
Just my $16.99 (My thoughts might have become easier to produce but marketing and branding still cost money)
Since the beginning of time I can account for a good 25 PCs that I have bought for myself personally and those that I have purchased for myself or had puchased for me in a working enviorment number in the 20s as well.
lowball figure of 45 brand new computers. I'm not going to assume that I am an average slashdotter in terms of consumerism but I'm sure I am not alone...
funny how misspellings lead to bigger truths :)
