    You don't have a clue what you are talking about. The larger the contact area the better the traction and braking. Why do you think tractors have such large tires? It's for traction.

    I agree with you about the man up and stand for your beliefs, however history has shown that standing for something unpopular had a nasty tendency to get you dead or injured.

    Signing a petition is very much like grabbing a sign and picketing. On the flip side it is similar to casting a ballot. I don't know which side to agree with on this one.

    In the midwest the county roads are built on even fractions of miles apart(1, 1/2, 1/4, usually, although I know of one at 1/8.) Our address system is a grid based on the mile roads. If we were to change to metric the whole system stops making sense.

    HTC does right now. I have a VZW Touch Pro 2(AKA ATT Tilt 2 or HTC Rhodium) It does provide feedback to me. I also can easily tell if the wind is too loud for the other party to hear me and can turn my head to compensate. My wife hates it but I got used to it quickly and have grown to like it.

    I didn't need to jailbreak it and then fight the antijailbreaking measures that a control-freak company uses to be able to use the device with full functionality. In other words "it just works."

    You are aware that the US built the GPS system right? We designed it. We paid for it. We launched it. We still pay for it to operate and be maintained.

    Since the system gains it's "zero" from a ground based reference it only makes sense that it's based on a location in the US since we are the ones that built the system. It's nothing short of amazing that the Prime Meridian only moved 100m. That's a testament to the skill of those that came before.

    Keep in mind that my tax dollars fund this and it's open for the whole world to use, so quit yer bitchin.

    GPS can only calculate heading from motion. It would still need a compass chip in it to give you a north input.

    How do you avoid paying your garbage bill? The GP was complaining about disposal costs. Those are already covered by the consumer.

    Amazon is not using sewer, electrical, police or road services locally as brick and morter store would.

    But the Amazon affiliate in Rhode Island is, and Amazon pays them a commission on the sale.

    And they should be paying their income taxes. End of story.

    Fuel taxes don't pay for the cost of disposing of the packaging, they don't pay for the cost of recycling the end product,

    No they don't. But the consumer's taxes and fees do.
