    Microsoft sees a nice upgrade path for users if they can claim their new os is more secure... maybe get people off those nt4 and 2000 boxes.

    Unless you are doing stuff with finance, you will almost never encounter any 'higher' math if you end up doing programming in the business environment.

    If you want to use your head get involved with actuarial science or with bioinformatics. I am sure that there are other fields I have missed.

    Perhaps he got a slap on the wrist because the transaction had little or no relevence to antitrust.

    Maybe if he was buying stock in red hat or adobe the fine would of been greater??

    Flamebait? There is a point where class creation is a form of redundancy (just the file naming creates redundancy). There is a point where you can go overboard with OO and struts is it.

    web applications created with struts are slow and memory hogs... you end up creating tons of objects even when you are doing something simple. It's really an OO academic exercise.

    agreed. At least the general public could understand the problem with chads and ballots. How many would understand a corrupted database or a compromised network?
    Part of the value of voting is for people to believe that the process is basically sound. As bad as flordia was i dont think that people believed that our democratic process was at stake.

    You are correct. This is the cd version where ELL was still in two seperate cds and AYE had the original art. I will never understand why they decided to mangle his albums.

    I am sort of a 'hendrixologist' and have been listening to him since a child. I know the difference between analog audio artifacts and what i hear as degredation, unpleasant crackling and dropouts that are not like you get from cd scratches. These cds were cared for and not scratched.
    I actually threw out the cd player I was playing them on because i thought that it was causing the problems but later found it was independant of the player.

    this is what i was getting with the hendrix cds, there was crackling and spottyness to the sound. It certainly is not the same as the analog artifacts you would expect to hear from the era when it was recorded.

    Some of my first cds purchased in 86 (Are You Experienced and Electric Ladyland) are clearly losing sound quality.

    put a 300$ holly fuel injection kit on the car and it will get good gas mileage and pollute much less.

    In a sense, it seems more appropriate to meat out punishment that fits the crime.
    This seems better than an arbitrary ticket that costs thousands of dollars once insurance costs are factored in.
    I bet you it is more effective, too.
