  4. It doesn't make it nonsense. If you grade someones personality traits and grade someones brain images and can show correlation (hopefully double blindly) you have found something of merit. I haven't read the research to see if it is done correctly but there isn't a reason this can be done in a scientifically meritorious manner.

  5. Simplistic models let you concentrate on the core of your study which is in this case is brain imaging. Maybe a "fast ten" model will be developed, but that is someone else's study.

  6. The simple definition I've heard is that socializing drains introverts and energizes extroverts.

    I am not saying we have to make 'every good'. I would argue though that the cost of having a significant portion of the country on welfare and needing treatment for various ailments such as obesity and drug abuse has been ignored in calculating comparative advantage. Our government has basically subsiding corporate profits by keeping these people from dying in the streets.

    Conveniently you left Germany out, not to mention Japan really goes against the grain of your point. Personally I think a country is strongest when they don't have all their eggs in one basket and have solid segments in every segment of the economy. A country structured this way will be much more resilient to economic disruptions and will make the most of the human capital within.

    It would be cool if movies (after some period of time like a year) went to a music-royalty type arrangement where anyone could broadcast as long as royalties are paid.

    As you well know, the angel feed off of someone's timeline potential. I would assume that being observed by something with a good amount of timeline potential is what causes them to freeze.

    Loans do not count. Of course you can get loans... that cannot be discharged in bankruptcy.

    Exactly my point. How is Harvard any more affordable for a family 100k a year than 10k?

    If you are middle class you can't get financial aid.

    For middle class folks (say around 100k household income) it's not worth the bother. You won't qualify for financial aid, yet it is as affordable as if you had zero income.
